Spider-Man: Far From Home anticipation thread

Yep. They saved the entire multiverse, so why is this little snap such a big deal?

I like Discovery... The way it's filmed doesn't give it the same scope though. The more relevant comparison would be the Enterprise saving the universe in one episode, and the next one is about them moderating a trade deal between two species we don't care about.

I feel like Infinity War broke me. It's almost impossible to get excited for these smaller standalone adventures now. Saving Europe? Who cares, when half the universe just got saved.
So you've stopped reading the comics since, I don't know, the 80s? Probably earlier. Universe-wise threats and then going back to "mundane" threats is par for the course for any comic universe.

It is. I only read major events, in collections. I hate individual comics. Someone got me some "collectible" comics for Christmas and I don't know what to do with them - the whole thing was collected in a graphic novel for $10.

Crisis on Infinite Earths must excite you then. That story makes Infinity War look like child’s play.

Just some observations

* Pepper Potts signed the check from the Stark Relief Foundation
* Peter looks at the suit Tony gave him with sadness
* Happy says to Peter “You’re all alone”.

Uh oh....

Yeah I am reading all of the Crisis books, and what happens in between at the moment.

You guys are trying to catch me in some kind of hypocrisy and it isn't working... lol

Not really, because you're just automatically assuming that the two species/new smaller scope move will be completely and totally uninteresting to us even though the series has done various similar stories before that were tons of fun.

I'm honestly not trying to catch you out in hypocrisy here, I just really don't get how the epic scope of one movie in any way invalidates the potential for a smaller scope, more intimate film to be just as fun.

But then, I guess Spider-Man Homecoming is basically my favorite MCU Solo movie and the only one I would actually consider a contender for best marvel movie alongside IW, so maybe I'm biased. Either way, this looks like lots of fun.

It might not be uninteresting to you but it will be uninteresting to me...

Is Mysterio still just a special effects/stage magician or have they given him actual magical abilities in this version? Another rogue Master of the Mystic Arts with a flair for the dramatic? I just wonder because this makes it look like he's using something with a little more juice than a low-rent iron man suit and some hologram projectors...

I bet you're fun at parties. :techman:

Oh I'm sure his levels of fun exceed to all facets of the world and not just parties

I wonder if a reason will be given for Peter not using his new suit from Avengers? or will it be because I left it at home  That suit was so cool.

This is interesting. If you freeze frame Peter's passport, there are no years listed. We see Aug. 10 as date of birth, but no year. We see July 10 as issued as issue date, but again without a year. Maybe they as trying to avoid more timeline issue like the ones the last movie created?

The international trailer has a little more footage and it changes Flash's dialogue at the end.

Random thought: what if Marvel are doing another bait & switch with a well known (and slightly silly) villain and those aren't actually Hydroman & Sandman but special effects/illusions created/conjured by Mysterio so he can grandstand and make himself out to be a new hero because...I don't know; profit maybe?

Yup, that's the current theory.
