That to me makes it actually more likely that Tawny will appear as Mariner. We know she will be in the episode. And we know they will play an audio clip of Brooks repurposed as dialog from Sisko.
Maybe SAM is actually a Prophet?
I’m not sure why I’m only realizing this now, but actually SAM and Sisko do have something in common! They’ve both been created as emissaries to humanity/linear life forms. I wonder if that will be the vehicle that sets the plot in motion: Someone is telling SAM that there was another famous emissary who lived 800 years ago.
And said character served on DS9 iirc
Clever! Am I the only one who was a little disappointed those tracks weren’t quoting the Deep Space Nine theme in some way? It’s strange, because otherwise Jeff Russo seems to love including melodies from previous Trek scores. Or I just missed it, I don’t know.

I'm a bit lost on your thoughts here. Surely she's highly likely to return as Mariner at some point in the franchise (weren;t they aim to do Middle Decks in some form). Reading the journalist comments directs me to someone far more historic from the franchise with a detachment from things Trek. Unless you're in a direction on this which has gone over my head which is easily possible.
So I found this in another thread - a summary of reviewers' comments:

I'm wondering in fact is Ejiofor is the voice of baby yates-Sisko, and Tawny is not, in fact, their daughter.

Okay, I found where it was revealed that Tawny was going to guest star on the show. It was this Parade article:
My thinking was that since tenmei’s journalist friend said it would be a “legacy character” that will cameo on the episode, that this would support my idea that Tawny would play Mariner (as opposed to Sisko’s daughter or whatever, who’s not a “legacy character”). But now that I found the original article again, I’m not so sure anymore.
I guess we really will have to wait and find out for ourselves.
EDIT: And apparently “Mortal Cinema” leaked the same info as well.
