speculation about Sherlock series two storylines?

What holmes tales would you like to see gattis and moffat adapt to the 21st century?

- An Irene Adler -centric episode is a nobrainer, and it would be incredibly fun to see cumberpatch take on that rarely seen, "romantic" facet of his character.
- hound of the baskervilles? or would that be too fantasy?

P.S. And how will they resolve the cliffhanger? I have a feeling Mycroft will help our heroes out -- he is concerned about that flashdrive, right?

I was thinking about the addition of Irene Adler...since Moffat has said that they consider everything canon I don't see why they wouldn't introduce her, but since they're doing three episodes I'm not sure if they would introduce her, Molly is there afterall :) I'm assuming that Mycroft will assist in some way as well.

Well, they're standing next to a pool. Either Sherlock and Watson will both go underwater to be shielded from the explosion, or it'll just be Watson who goes into the pool, and Sherlock and Moriarty will both be presumed dead in the explosion, in a twist on how they were both initially killed off in a the fight at the waterfall.

Another thought about Irene...perhaps they won't use her since she's such a fixture now in Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes". I'm interested to see if Watson hooks up with that Detective woman that thinks Sherlock is a freak...Mycroft's texting assistant doesn't seem to have the time of day for him lol.

I think the *real* Moriarty will turn up and the gimp we saw at the end of the last series was a dupe.

I get a kick out of how many people dislike this take on Moriarty. Not saying your wrong Joe...I just wouldn't be surprised if the person we saw confront Sherlock was the real deal here. I know he's not what we're used to seeing in the portrayal of the character but I didn't mind the weird characteristics and inflection in his voice. After all that person infiltrated Sherlock's life to the point to feign being gay to mess with Molly and date Molly in the first place. The kind of access this person has to Sherlock is fascinating.

I certainly hope this is true. I really did not care for nuMoriarty!

I'd have to think that Irene Adler is something of an inevitability - I mean, she's one of the most iconic supporting characters in the canon, probably second only to Moriarty himself. She's even got her own spin-off book series. Of course, I expect Moffatt/Gatiss would put some sort of spin on the character if she does turn up, but either way, I hope it's sooner rather than later.
