Speculation about "Incusrion". Spoilers

SG-17

Commodore
Commodore
The first of a three part season finale for SGU, Incursion.
The summary is
An enemy from the Milky Way finds a way to board the Destiny and takes several crew members hostage.
So who do you think the enemy is? I doubt it would be a Lucian Alliance member, though that is possible, I personally think it will be something stupid.

Considering all the casting spoilers I've read, I would be shocked if it was anyone besides the Lucian Alliance. Anyone else would be coming out of left field, too. The Lucian Alliance were in the pilot, and attacked Icarus, and might have a mole among the crew.

Didn't Anubis already find his way off that ice planet, and afterwards fought Oma to a draw?

Oh wow. How could I have forgotten that.

Ha, now that I think about it, I barely remember any SG-1 after season 7. Seasons 1-7 are engraved into my head, but 8-10 are just fuzzy memories.

The Lucian Alliance are indeed involved in the S1 finale, setting things up for a story arc featuring them in season 2.

I hate the Lucian alliance plot, they're just a bunch of renegades that stole Goa'uld technology. HOW can they be such a threat when we have superior Asgard and Ancient technology. At any rate, I look at them like the Genii, just a stupid idea and it never has worked out right.

I would have hoped for a little more bang. Like for example, say the Evil Asgards we met in the Pegasus Galaxy, OR even better yet that strange Borg like alien race the Atlantis team met in an alternate universe. I think it would have been cool if that race had tracked us back to this universe, and wound up punching through to the Destiny because they were homing in on ancient Ancient frequencies or something, like they've encountered the old Alterans before, or even that ship in another universe. THAT to me would have been a more compelling story line.

It is odd that the Hammond couldn't fight back against the Lucian Alliance in the pilot. You'd think with Asgard beam wepons, they could have all three ships taken out in the same shot. I liked the Geni, though. Back in the first season they were cool. Neglect eventually hurt them. Atlantis cold have benefitted from developig things with them rather than bringing the Replicators in.

I think that in one of the upcoming episodes, Rush discovers that someone is spying for the Lucian Alliance. If I had to guess, I'd guess at it being
Camile Wray

^^
Really? I hope not. They've already done enough pointless damage to said character already.

It just seems to far out of left field to me. My bet is that they'll go with a minor character--at least if they intend for it to make sense.

I think the spy will probably be
someone we haven't seen before that has nonetheless apparently been there all along, like the new scientist in Space. Maybe not him, but I think that's the basic idea they'll use.

^^The guy monitoring the stones? He was actually introduced in Justice.

There is nothing about her behaviour to suggest she is a double agent. Especially considering she is acting consistently normal compared to everyone else from the IOA seen in SG-1 and Atlantis.

I'm going to try to rationalize how they can be a threat.

Maybe they have decided that they are not going to beat humans head on due to the technology and tactics difference. So they slide a mole in in an attempt to steal secrets.

Just a thought!

How do you get a mole into the Stargate program? Don't they perform background checks?

Or is their security run by the same firm who works for CTU?

The Trust/NID was able to infiltrate the SGC. Three times that I can recall off-hand. The theft of Goa'uld technology from Area 51 and it's replacement with dummy props, the guy who tagged the stargate to steal it in season 8, and when they managed to kidnap and implant Colonel Caldwell sometime during the second season of Atlantis.

It seems that the Lucian Alliance knows something about Destiny, maybe through research/knowledge gained from the Goa'uld.

That's true. But wasn't the Trust made up of humans from Earth? That makes it a little easier to get a job in the military.

It's explained in the DVD version of the pilot that there are myths all around the galaxy about the wonders of the ninth chevron and the wonders that dialling an address using all nine chevrons could lead to. The Lucian Alliance some how learned of Icarus base and that they were attempting to dial a nine chevron address and attacked intending to hoarde the fortune for themselves.
