Speculate: What/how did Capt Janeway do on the Kobayashi Maru?

Janeway is a science officer by trade. Maybe she didn't even take this test.

Kathy had to take the test as soon as she decided to take th command track whether that was at the academy or after being influenced by the awesomeness of serving under captain Owen Paris and wanting to be just like him... Not that her father wasn't an admiral too that science was just the route she was taking to command, since her family and the memory of her father had expectations of her career.

Either at the academy, or a holodeck turned into an academy later on her career (like Deanna) there were prerequisites and qualifications which Janeway couldn't side step if she was to get her fourth pip without fluffing the paperwork or cheating.

Spock was captain of the Enterprise in Wrath of Khan and he'd never taken the Kobayashi Maru.

Reverse continuity says he used to program the test, but he still never took it.

Some say that he was still a cadet aboard Enterprise in the first pilot.

It's possible he got a field promotion to Ensign (Like Nog) rather than finish his education because Pike didn't want to Risk another Captain snapping him up if the "Vulcanian" got out of sight.

Besides, no holodecks and no emotional spectrum. It's insulting to assume that he "feels" one way or another about winning or losing.

There's a TOS book called Kobayashi Maru. A shuttle breaks down. No danger. They just have a couple hours to kill, so the command staff share all their Kobayashi Maru stories.

I just about vomited when they referenced Kobayashi Maru on Hellcats earlier this year. Then of course the mention of the Borg was odd enough on Franklin and Bash (pilot, it's new.) the other night when they had the man that killed Kirk in a supporting roll... Do you think that Malcolm McDowell realizes that's the first in most fanboys minds as he walks by? Not "Singing in the rain" or "He fucked a horse" but "That bugger killed Kirk!"?

No, it doesn't. Mosaic builds up to the incident mentioned in "Coda," but does not mention much of her cadet days at all. A tiny bit, but not a lot.

What a shame - Cadet Janeway would've been very interesting to read about. Thanks anyway.

Hmmm. You know, I think the aforementioned incident was Jeri Taylor's stand-in for Janeway's Kobayashi Maru, since it was a no-win scenario...

Sabotage the Klingon space program in it's infancy or just cull the bastards back to a handful of villages.

How about Icheb's Kobayashi Maru? What if Q Jr showed up in the middle and snapped his fingers, turning the Klingons into tribbles? Would Icheb fail or get a commendation?

Unless Icheb and Q hack the code running the program or broke the hardware, the program will compensate withthe illusion of overpowering Q with perhaps the introduction of other gods or even Q.

Well, from what we've seen of her actions on screen:

She sneaks in the night before so that there is a loop hole that allows her to save the other ship and bring almost everyone home with few casualties. She then sacrifices everyone just for the hell of it. Anyone who questions her thinking is just mean.

Thinking about it, I could actually see Lieutenant Janeway coming to to terms with the leveled off dead end that her career has become, and travelling back in time to fix her youngerselfs exams and the Kobayashi Maru whether her examiners notice how she's cheating or not.
