Sparrow-class Frigate

Yeah, I really liked the forward swept pylon concept. I don't think that it really resembled a turkey in a pan.

This is a quick mock-up resulting in a comment between me and veteran sub-space comms member Pleiades, in which he suggested that the impulse engines be made to be placed on a platform, or be made more modular.

And this is the modification that he originally made.

I felt that it didn't look seamlessly integrated enough for my tastes, but I still thought I'd see what your thoughts were.

This is what I've been up to for the past several weeks (besides playing my new Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire Version):

Sorry about the graininess. Unfortunately, that is how the print came out, which I had to work with, in order to sketch in all of those new details. Speaking of new details, quite a bit of that has been added: viewports, external transport emitter emplacements, lifepod emplacements, navigational lights, even shuttlebay markings, amongst other minor details.

I still haven't quite been able to bring myself to do much in regard to hull plating/deflector grids, which the Vesta, which I'm basing the hull patterns after, don't have much of, and I'm not going to do all the various colors and shades that Rademaker seems to like. That would just make printouts prohibitive when I want to sketch in further details (not to mention avert the clean, off-white look I'm aiming for).
