Stumbled across this 1972 Rolling Stone article link and was amazed at some of the author's speculations. It also tells the tale of the granddaddy of all video games: Spacewar!
I thought it was ironic that it took a non-computer type to project how things would develop.

Spacewar! always looked like a lot of fun. Someday when I'm rich and bored I'd love to get an old PDP-1 and play it as it was meant to be played!
