South Park - 11/05/08

Anyone catch it. I, personally, thought it was hilarious with Obama and McCain creating the elaborate hoax of the election in order to do a Ocean's Eleven type heist.

I am even more amazed at how fast they got the episode out. I imagine that most of the B-Plot was written before hand (with Stan and Kyle getting Ike to the hospital), but a LOT of the episode hinged on the election results.

Also, can I put my name down on the list of people who think Randy is the best character on the show?

Great episode! I loved Palin as the british chick...and Ike blowing up the plane.

Its incredible how fast they get these episodes out.

We know what the creators were donig today.

"MY grandma will phone in a bomb threat after faking her death Monday!"

Amazing!

This was a really excellent episode. It was easily the best of the season so far.

Was Joe Biden in the episode? I don't remember seeing him.

Nice to see them take a funny and balanced approach--it's something this show pulls off a lot, as opposed to having something like Family Guy's "joke" where Nazis wore McCain buttons.

Do you think his wife really calls him "Barack?" Sounded so odd. I know he used to go by "Barry."

Stop watching the show a LONG time ago. But I still would have liked to see what Obama looked like as a South Park character. Oh well.

It's on again quite a number of times between now and Sunday. You still can.

Astonishing how many scenes were dependent on events that happened 23 hours earlier. Still, I imagine they knew Obama would win and made the episode accordingly, then just inserted "real time" scenes.

It was a pretty good episode. I appreciated that they didn't villify Obama OR McCain and instead made them both impostor jewel thiefs.

Just watched it myself. I thought the Indiana Jones one was good, but the rest of these new batch of episodes have been kinda boring IMO

At first, I thought the storyline would be dumb but it turned out to be pretty funny.

Loved that little scene where Cartman was riding up with all the TV sets he had stolen.

It's a really funny episode. I love how the characters completely over react, like they always do. I too liked how the Obama and McCain aren't villified. I wonder if they made McCain victory segments in case he won instead. If they do, I hope it's on the DVD.

BTW, I always knew politicians are liars and thieves....

Apparently, according to Matt Stone, they were banking on an Obama win rather than come up with an alternative episode. The only things that were up in the air aside from the results of the election were the victory and concession speeches. I was actually surprised they managed to capture the party atmosphere around Obama's victory.
