What do you like or don't like about Trek XI soundtrack well I think the different themes are great do you think they are

I don't like the fact that Alexander Courage's fanfare was only used in the closing credits, and not at the beginning. I liked the main theme, but Courage's fanfare should have played during the reveal of the title ("STAR TREK").
And the main melody has been terribly over-used.
"Hella bar talk," "Enterprising young men" and "To Boldly Go/End credits" were awesome tracks. The rest was mostly mediocre.

Meh, don't agree. Loved the theme and the soundtrack.... very catchy.
I found it sub-par, especially for Giacchino, who's better than the material he produced here. A freind of mine described the main theme as "constipated," which fits the bill pretty well. There's almost nothing at all interesting or innovative in the score as far as I'm concerned.
Of course, I like everything anyway.... 
^^I've found myself humming it too, despite not liking it very much, so I'll agree it's memorable. Just not that good.
It might be worth checking out Film Score Monthly's podcast about the soundtrack. The hosts are pretty divided over weather it's any good, so it's a nice sampling of opinions from folks trained in music theory. I agree with the guy who says that the main theme sounds like a counterpoint for a melody that doesn't exist.

you are very nitpicky
I felt Labor of Love fit the best out of the entire movie. It was perfectly edited into the movie.
I just know what I like.
I just go: do I like it? Well yeah, it makes me feel good....
If it doesn't, I don't like it. Simple as that.

Jerry Goldsmith has spoiled us. So did Horner, Eidelman and McCarthy.
On the surface, it seems like there is only one theme. But what he does with it is pretty amazing. It's an exercise in mid-century modernism, where less is more. Minimalist; which has been said before here. It is definitely memorable; just try and get that worm out of your brain.

I really enjoyed the music while I was watching the film (all 13 times)...and listening to it in my car on the way to work just about every day, which is great because I can visualize what's going on in the movie. The scene where the Enterprise pops out of warp to save Spock in the Jellyfish is awesome and the music only makes it more so - imo.
I've become a Giacchino fan this year thanks to Star Trek and Up: both movies had tremendously powerful opening scenes and a moving scene later on and I've got to contribute this a lot to the composer. Others have pointed out Labor of Love, Hella Bar Talk, Enterprising Young Men and To Boldly Go/End Credits, but I really like Spock's theme too as presented in That New Car Smell, and the music for the film's climax was really thrilling. I really loved the stirring simplicity of the new main theme.
OMG yes! That whole scene is perfect. PERFECT! I love how the scarred Rommie says, "Captain i've picked up another ship!" And the Enterprise flies in. i got GOOSEBUMPS at that part.
