What have I been up to... been to Africa (amazing), totally consumed by work (sadly facing redundancy every day tho ) and getting rejection after rejection for my novel - oh well, it's all part of the fun.

Wow, you're authoring? Cool! Best of luck to you! Keep at it. It can't be easy to write a novel like that. Just keep that determination - it's gonna take a lot to drag you away from it. That's not something that a hundred men or more could ever do. And keep blessing the rains down in Africa.

The Gambia. Have you been? Wonderful people but VERY hot. They are having a big drive on education so spent some time at a school. The kids love you taking their pic cause they've never seen it done before, so if you take a pic and show them it they go wild with excitement. There's a really different emphasis on what's important in life - family and friendship. No-one has tv or anything like that - it's really special.

I've been to Kenya courtesy of the US Navy. Beautiful beaches of pure white sand that looks like sugar. The people selling their wares on the beach were a trip. They loved to barter for our socks, hats, and t-shirts rather than be paid money.
