What if Gemma is the true Claudius figure of SOA? Clay was the one who killed J.T. but Gemma may be the one who manipulated Clay into doing the job, using his attraction to her and her own vulnerability to influence him. Though what Clay did to Gemma was terrible without a doubt, I think he is seeing Gemma for who she really is underneath. I think this series isn't going to end with a showdown between Jax and Clay, though I believe that will happen. I think it is going end with a showdown between Jax and Gemma. Clay is only there to fool the audience into thinking that he is the one pulling the strings and when the truth is, Gemma is the culprit.

^^^ Agreed. While Clay's assault on Gemma was inexcusable, she has plenty of blood and blame to be laid at her doorstep as well. If this is following along traditional Shakespearean/Greek Tragedy story-lines, justice should be served towards all guilty parties in the end, based on the severity of their transgressions.

Wow, this is the best show on TV.

Tara is just in a funk now. Even if she never fully recovers the use of her hand, she still has plenty of knowledge and experience to still pursue a medical career and get her, Jax and the boys out of Charming. However, next week Jax will discover that he has a solid reason to stay.

I wonder what Ron Perlman thinks about the way the writers have taken Clay, into full villainy?

Wow, this is the best show on TV.

Agreed. As much as I enjoy other shows, when this one is on, I'm literally on the edge of my seat... I can actually feel something for these well crafted, excellently written characters and I can't say that for many other shows this year.

Thrilled to hear they could extend the finale into another episode!

I would be surprised if they killed off Clay or Tara too soon... I wonder if the show does go for three more years if it can fly without those two. Jax without Tara... Gemma without Clay. Hmmm. I dunno.

The one thing I love about this show is that they aren't afraid to kill characters off. And they do it properly... for example, in the first season Half-Sack, it seemed like an obvious plant that he would be there an eventually become a full member. Then when he was offed, it became clear this show was going to have balls moving forward with picking people off.

The bait and switch with Juice/Piney was pretty amazing!

Tara being central to Jax's character (would he have any grounding at all without her?) I can't imagine that they'd kill her off but it seems either she goes or Clay goes.

I don't know if it was an interview with Pearlman or a producer or something, but I remember reading that there was a specific reason for all the shit Clay does and that he is not "without redemption." Interesting.

It's nice to watch a show and be able to expect the unexpected.

Opie is officially on the warpath.

A part of me hopes that after Clay's dead, Opie can fully make peace with Donna's death and rekindle his marriage to Lyla. Maybe keeping Clay alive all this time is what kept Opie from being with Lyla fully.

I'm sad about the Jax-Opie rift. I hope it gets resolved before the end of this season.

Tara is going through one angry, crappy ride. I wonder what Gemma has planned for Wendy. I hope it's a death. I also wonder why Gemma is holding off on killing Clay now. What's going on in her head? What's the Son she has in mind for taking out Clay?

The consequences of Clay's actions are crashing down on him. Jax has a heated beef with him over what he did to Gemma, Tig wants nothing to do with him, and Gemma isn't there to be his ally and rock. Clay is more alone than ever and it is going to get worse for him, a lot worse, by the look of next week's promo. Clay's fall reminds me a bit of Lord Macbeth's as he falls farther into paranoia, alienation, delusion, and bloodshed.

I'm surprised by Kozik's death but it didn't really move me much as it would if it was Jax, Tig, Chibs, or any of the other Sons.

Juice, for the Love of God, tell me Chibs the whole story! Not part of the story! I know he sees what he is doing as a way of protecting the Sons but he is only digging a bigger hole for himself. Juice and Clay are both heading for tragic falls this season. I have a feeling Chibs may be the one who takes Juice out.

I wonder how Otto and Bobby's meeting is going to go down.

Wow, I can't say enough good about that episode. Clay at the end, despite all the shit he's done, the pathos Perlman played it with almost made me feel sorry for Clay. Like Joe said, there is a lot of Macbeth in Clay's part, he's so deep in blood it is just as easy to go forward as back now. Opie is ready to burst, that cabin scene was fantastic. Birnam wood is marching on Dunsinane soon.

and juice walking across that minefield was messed up. opi is the one who needs to
kill clay once and for all. for all the messed up shit clay has done to him and his family. all so they finally get rid of sleez who runs there porn studio which was great.

now that weapon that jax shot during the fighting that's an RPG right?

I'm starting to think they won't kill off Tara because of the depths of hell she's achieved with her pain this last episode make her character a lot deeper. I think it might be more likely that Clay will get the boot but I'm not sure who would be around to antagonize if he were to get whacked?
Not sure if I can watch the scene again after Tara re-smashed her freshly smashed hand. Yikes.

I'm still laughing about the "head chili" though, :lol.

Whether Clay lives or dies, it is very unlikely that he'll remain President of the club after all the bridges he has burned all season.

Kozik's death was great and could only have been better had it been a grenade that killed the character, matching the way his character goes out in the Shield.
A great episode and I cant see Unser making it much farther if Clay doesnt get it.

Chib's explanation to Juice for SAMCRO's apparently racist rules makes no sense whatsoever. (And have they ever explained what the rules are, specifically?) So I'm sticking with the assumption that they're more concerned with tribal issues than racial per se. They just don't want to worry that a recruit's ethnicity/race will cause him to have divided loyalties. Poor Juice probably wanted to scream, why didn't you dumb fuckers explain that to me a long time ago???

But Juice can't confess the whole story. Whatever the reason, it's unforgivable that he betrayed the club to the Feds, killed a loyal club member, and then sullied his memory by accusing him of being the betrayer. If Juice tells the truth, the club will kill him.

My bets are:

Tara isn't the person who Clay hurts that upsets Jax next week. Instead, it's Gemma - she gets in the way to defend Tara and Clay shoots her. I doubt she'll die (there's no way this show can lose Gemma!) but I could see her being paralyzed or something along those lines.

Opie is going to die.

Clay will be in prison or on the run.

Tig isn't going to leave SAMCRO after all because if Clay is gone, they need to stick together.

I don't think Tig was trying to say that he was leaving the club when he handed his Sergeant-in-Arms patch to Clay, just that he could no longer serve in that capacity.
