Sons of Anarchy S3 season finale

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral

Anyone besides me watching SOA, aka Hamlet with Bikers? I'm continually amazed at how well-crafted the ongoing plotline is, even if all the blah blah blah in Ireland got a bit draggy, it was a nice change of pace to get the show out of Cali.

The season really picked up towards the end and the season finale was a total heart attack. Too bad about Stahl, they'll never get a villain as good as her again. Jax's betrayal being a con on the audience was errr a bit aggravating - since when is Gemma the point of view character, and we're only limited to what she knows? And I'm not at all sure how Unser expects to get away with what he did but I figure he has cancer and is far past caring.

Tara discovering that Gemma and Clay probably killed Jax's dad is interesting - she knows it would destroy Jax, plus I'm sure she has genuine loyalty towards Gemma and maybe SAMCRO as well.

Love the show, myself. I can see your point about point of view, but I wasn't put off by it. I do want to go back over the season and see if there was any foreshadowing though. I am going to miss Stahl, a wonderful psycho agent. The scene in bed where she slides her hand over her partner's empty space and smiles was a great moment into the character.

Next season, given how they write the show so far, I trust the John Teller stuff won't be simple. The way they write we may end up with more sympathy for Clay and Gemma than John Teller.

I really liked season three and didn't have a particular problem, though I see why others did. The Ireland interlude is in reality only a few days and could have been boiled down into two long episodes instead, but I liked it none the less. I love how Gemma talks to the nuns, always ask yourself 'What would Gemma do?' when dealing with lying bureaucrats in any form.

I loved the Ireland excursion, myself. Season three has been the best yet. Oddly enough, I didn't find the reversal about Jax's betrayal being a con aggravating at all. In fact, I started laughing! I am somewhat glad, though, to be back on a path towards an eventual Jax / Clay power struggle.

We'll see if that comes about, I imagine a lot of next season may have reveals to what was going on with Gemma, Clay and Teller. The club seems safely in control again, but there are some interesting things on the horizon with Hale, the Russians, the IRA as well as the guy from the Nords (can't think of his name now, just Skinner in the X-Files).

Don't forget the police upheaval, either. With the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department taking over Charming PD, the situation in Charming post-prison stint should be a whole new ballgame for SAMCRO. Hale will probably be mayor when the guys get out of prison, since I'm assuming we'll have a time jump forward. And, yeah, the Russians are going to be mighty pissed about the money situation. I do hope Ernest Darby (Mitch Pileggi's character) returns, even if the writers want to keep him on the right side of the law; Pileggi is just too damn good not to have on the screen.

As for Jax vs. Clay, it's only a matter of time (my guess, mid-season) before Tara shows Jax the letters Maureen sent home with him and he starts digging into the precise details of how JT died, so I don't see how the show won't end up getting back to that. It is, after all, "Hamlet with Bikers," as Temis reminded in her opening post.

I imagine one point to remember from Ireland in that is how the MC President wanted the money cause he was getting too old for the life. Clay himself is talking about he Irish deal being the one to set him and Gemma up for their last years. There's always that last big score for criminals and Jax wanting his family away from that life is very likely to bring some heat to their relationship again.

Great ending, but the season was waaaaay too slow and contained only one major plotline.

Where seasons 1 and 2 had genuine rewatching potential (a lot of interesting stuff going on at once, fun to see how a bike club like the HA would conduct their affairs), I can see myself passing over season 3 in the future.

Brilliant finale. They really had me going with Jax all season, superb twist!

And I'm not at all sure how Unser expects to get away with what he did but I figure he has cancer and is far past caring.

Especially leaving his badge and gun on the table. We already know from experience people can walk in and out of his office at will, somebody might want to know what he was doing out there without either of them.

Well, he did have Kozick hit him, presumably so that he can try to bluff his way out of the storm sure to follow from the ATF. Maybe Unser was thinking that none of his deputies would have reason to go into his office if he's not in the building. Not the safest bet, granted, and it surely would have been a safer option to put the gun and badge in a desk drawer instead of leaving it on top of the desk.

Of course, as Temis said, and as Unser himself also said to Stahl, he's on his way out no matter what, so maybe he just doesn't give a damn anymore. Maybe he's just worried now about staying loyal to his friends.

Can't the FBI check to see if that bogus tip Unser got actually came in? They'd have to be pretty naive not to realize they've been conned when they come back and find Stahl dead and Unser merely knocked around a bit...haven't they ever watch a cop show? :rommie:

However unrealistic it may be, I do enjoy it when shows avoid police detainment or courtroom scenes to keep the plot moving forward.

This is perhaps the best written show on tv at the moment. All of the characters are fully developed and with such a large cast thats no easy feat. The Russians will definitely be a major problem next season and perhaps try to get even while the boys are in prison. While I love Gemma I think she needs to be pushed into the background a little at the start of next season. Its Jaxs story not hers. Did anyone else like the Irish version of the opening music?

Dug the Irish version of the title theme. I'm going to miss it. The club being in on Jax's deal with Stahl had a bit if a cop out feel to it. Like Sutter hit a deadend and had to figure out a quick fix to get Jax back into the club. Maybe there was subtle foreshawdowing all along that I missed, I'll have to look for it when FX reruns the season.

Gonna miss Stahl but love how they handled her story. Hopefully the county sheriff character will be just as interesting.

I would have to agree that this is one of the best shows on tv at this time. The finale was a bit of a cop out, with the club knowing what was going on the whole time, but it was still pretty good. I don't think we missed any foreshadowing about the Jax con because I don't think there was any.

I also agree with Temis about Stahl. They are going to have a hard time replacing her villainous ass. I give props to the actress playing her, she was good. At the end when she was whimpering I kind of felt bad for her, even after all the crap she's pulled. She got what was coming to her but still... I'm still looking forward to when Opie finds out the truth about his wife's death.

The Ireland stuff kind of dragged a bit this season, and I didn't care for the Irish theme song, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Overall this season was good and the next should be awesome too.

I also forget. It is fantastic show and I don't wanna missed it. Thanks buddy!!

Oh, yeah. I forgot. Thanks.

I've accidentally missed only two episodes of SoA: the episode where Opie learns the truth about Donna's death, and the episode where Gemma tells everyone that she was raped. Can you believe I could miss such pivotal episodes!?! Bad karma or something...
