The conversation makes no sense. Why would Mendez need to describe what Pike looked like to Kirk at the time of the command hand over? Kirk was the one there. And the handover only took place a couple of years back. Pike would not be "about Kirk's age" at that time. He's have at least a decade on him. The only time Pike would have about Kirk's age would be on the mission to Talos.
Still makes no sense.the command hand-over might not be the same as the promotion to Fleet Captain. (in fact, now, we know its not.) Kirk may have not even seen Pike when he took command.
Still makes no sense.
Joe: Do you know Bob?
Bill: Yes, we met at the Christmas party.
Joe: He’s a tall guy with blond hair.
Bill: yeah, like I said I’ve met him.
Maybe that what Kirk was doing, reiterating to Mendez that he knows Pike, with out calling Jose an idiot?![]()
Where did he not job in the later seasons of TNG?Only if you disregard all the later TNG episodes where he's a formidable badass, plus his four seasons of DS9.
Oh yeah, that scene. Yeah he was bad ass in that moment.Worf fighting his way through progressively tougher Jem'Hadar opponents while held captive at that Dominion Internment Camp is peak Badaas.
Having Martok as his hype man certainly didn't hurt matters.

The Talosians turned that illusion over to an intern.I just look at it as awkward dialogue meant to make for casual banter between Mendez and Kirk before he shows him a crippled, disfigured man in an electronic wheelchair. It's never been good dialogue, but one can interpret it in different ways.
I always liked what the Jem'Hadar said. "I can not defeat this man. I can only kill him, and that no longer interests me.""I WILL NOT YIELD!!!!"
That's peak Worf right there.
I just don't know how we are still having this "its all the same universe" argument after Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow spelled it out for us.
Because it's all the same universe, simply altered.I just don't know how we are still having this "its all the same universe" argument after Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow spelled it out for us.
