Spoilers (Somewhat minor spoilers) Guys, Lower Decks has NOT decanonized Discovery. Or SNW.

Spock claimed Sarek was his ancestor? That's not a mistake, it's technically correct... the best kind of correct for a Vulcan.
But they take more pride in precision. 99.999999% of the time ;)
Uhura changed departments? That's a thing officers do.
She's doing the same job in the same department.
Pike's age was contradicted in the very next line, so that's just a mistake.
Mistakes cause contradictions.

McCoy scans a surgically-altered Klingon in TOS and recognizes they're Klingon from their vital readings, but 26 years later in TUC he doesn't know Klingon anatomy. McCoy is the best surgeon and CMO in Starfleet, except when he needs to not be to drive the plot.

After Skin of Evil he was the ship's acting chief of security, replacing Yar (who wore gold), but he continued wearing red for three more episodes - longer than Uhura wore gold.

If that's the worst TOS contradicts itself, I think the series did okay. Especially as a lot of them are easily explained.

The ship used contradictory stock footage of the ship within the same episode... yep, they didn't have the money to do better, it was flaw in the production, not a later retcon.
always took it to mean he met him, when he was the age kirk is NOW.

That's how I remembered it as well, but I checked the script and it says:

MENDEZ: You ever met Chris Pike?
KIRK: When he was promoted to Fleet Captain.
MENDEZ: About your age. Big, handsome man, vital, active.
KIRK: I took over the Enterprise from him. Spock served with him for several years.
SPOCK: Eleven years, four months, five days.
I suppose it is a little ambiguous, like he's describing how he would've remembered him.

Growing up I always assumed Pike and Kirk were close in age, but now one can interpret the line to mean "about your age" when he was Captain of the Enterprise, which he was during "The Cage."

exactly - since he's not big, vital, handsome or active anymore, either. He was describing him at the promotion moment to trigger Kirk's memory.

Add/Edit - Especially since we are seeing quite a difference in age between Mount-Pike and Barely-Kirk, i forget the name. the guy thats a blend between Jim Carrey and James Cawley. lol.

The conversation makes no sense. Why would Mendez need to describe what Pike looked like to Kirk at the time of the command hand over? Kirk was the one there. And the handover only took place a couple of years back. Pike would not be "about Kirk's age" at that time. He's have at least a decade on him. The only time Pike would have about Kirk's age would be on the mission to Talos.
