Something Really Odd...

Evening Everyone,

So I had something really odd happen with my laptop earlier today and I wanted to get some input on it. Late last night my wife and I started to hear a whistling noise in our living room that got progressively louder. Through a process of elimination she and I realized that it was my laptop. The laptop was in sleep mode at the time and the noise kept getting louder and louder. I immediately unplugged the laptop and the whistling kept getting louder. After a few moments I was able to get the battery pack released. The whistling immediately stopped, but the laptop was extremely hot.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

Did it sounds like the fans going nuts? Sounds like a weird overheating issue. That'd cause the fans to spin really fast.

I suppose it could've been the fan. The computer was in sleep mode at the time, which is somewhat more concerning.

I was able to get the laptop to come back on. When it booted it had reset back to the original version of Windows 10 with none of the updates.

It might have been something to do with the graphics card module overheating.
I would have it checked out right away or simply store everything on a USB device and then re-install the operating system.
