Something I'm unclear about with the Artifact

Soji - Data's daughter? Wait, Maddox made her. No, now Soong's there. Another Soong. Data's alive. (But other poster says, no it's not Data, just a copy and the show's about Picard dealing with Data even though there was tons of plot not related to that. . . .)

Wasn't it stated that Data's conscious was just the copy of what was taken from B4's memory? So it basically is a copy of a copy (and probably not a totally complete copy, since I don't believe B4 was able to store Data's whole mind).

I sure wish this had been much more of a drama/character study than such a mixture. Would fan's heads have exploded without all the pew-synths-action stuff and gotten just a straight drama? Maybe.

What action? There were only a few action scenes.

I think B-4 was able to store the full upload of memory engrams, just not use it. If B-4's brain had lacked the storage capacity, then Data and Geordi would've known that immediately; they would've gotten some sort of "disk full" message. Instead, they successfully completed the upload, but it just didn't have an effect. The idea was just to give B-4 the potential to grow. "If my memory engrams are successfully integrated into his positronic matrix, he should have all my abilities... It is my belief that with my memory engrams he will be able to function as a more complete individual." So B-4's matrix proved too simple to integrate and use the engrams, but the data was still there in a latent form.

OK, that's a good point that I couldn't remember.

...Indeed, it apparently was at least partially contagious, so that Oh/Nedar could pass some of her Admonition-variant insanity on to Jurati through a mind meld. It's powerful juju, is all.
