Someone is using my iTunes account.

So I got an email receipt today from Apple listing a bunch of downloads on my account from the App Store. Problem is, I never downloaded anything from the App Store. I've never even used it, ever. All the apps in question were free, but I'm worried that someone might have gotten their hands on it soon enough to charge a bunch of items that cost; the date on the receipt was the 22nd, since the emails have an annoying tendency to arrive days after the purchase in question.

I went to the iTunes store and changed my password, but I'm not sure what else I can do about it. The Apple help site was no use, since it listed a few stock things to try if you suspect someone is trying to get into your acount. Does anyone know who I can contact about this if it gets out of hand, or how I can check for other unauthorized activity on my account without having to wait for charges to post or a receipt to show up?

Sorry about that, found some credentials on a.......forum, didn't think it would work but once it did, couldn't help myself.;)

Phone them. Also, remove your credit card details if they are stored with your account details.

Don't they have any kind of online Customer Service or anything?

Removing credit card information is definitely a good idea.

Definitely. Too bad I can't figure out how. (I may be an Apple guy when it comes to my computers, but there's a reason I've never bothered with the online purchase of MP3s.)

Do these things:

- Launch iTunes.

- Go to the iTunes Store. Sign into your account, if necessary.

- Click on that little box in the upper right corner with your email addy on it.

- Click on 'Edit Payment Information'.

- There should be a bunch of icons of credit cards (VISA, AmEx, etc.) each with a button next to it. One also should say "None". Click on that button. Then save your payment information.

^Awesome. Thanks. :techman:

And at least it doesn't look like there have be any other purchases through the account, either. So who knows what was going on?

You know what, helpful people like these posters above are why misc is so great for things high and low.

Just a small reflection :)
