Your point is well taken and one could hope that you're correct.
That being said, I think we are all aware that (right or wrong) there are celebrities who seem to care too much about what message board posters, twitter posters, etc., think.
It could be simple human nature, it could be outsized ego or some sort of acquired narcissi syndrome.
As such, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that Orci (or some other successful director in his current position) shouldn't avoid the net when something like this happened.
