Solar Eclipse Nov 2012

November 13/14. Post your pictures here.

Mainly Australia and NZ for this one. Wish I could be in Cairns; the sun will rise eclipsed on Wednesday!

I know several friends who have a chance to see it, as they live in Townsville. Hopefully might get to see some photos of it tomorrow.

ooh, I'm envious! I saw a total ecclipse on 9/11 1999 - it was awesome, especially the seconds before the full ecclipse: a 360° dawn, complete with red clouds. I'd love to see that again.
Alas, the next one in my country will be in 2081 and it's not likely that I'll have good eyesight at 117...

Well the next eclipse due in the UK is

Partial in 2015, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2091

Total in 2090

I'll make a long range weather forcast for those days. Cloudy overcast skies at best, with a stong possibility of rain obscuring the eclipse.

It's started.

And it's cloudy here.

Godsfrakkindammit.

My home city is in the prime location for a solar eclipse in 2028. Pity I have to wait 16 years - I'll be 50!

We had complete cloud cover, but it did part briefly for me to snap this:

awesome picture!
Don't worry, we even had rain in 1999 but it seems that rain and clouds always stop during the full ecclipse. I suspect that it has something to do with the sudden drop in temperature that alters the air currents for a few minutes.

IT'S THE END OF TIME!!!

:)

Cool picture. I remember looking at a close to total one 20ish years ago when i was in grade school because I was the only one with a lenses to look at it, everyone else had they box trick.
