So this is basically a diagram for a device I made awhile back as a "artifact prop". I haven't got the calibrations down, and its kind of overwhelming to try and figure out customizing the prop.

The more usual term for "shade arm" is "gnomon".

Those are some good sites... I hadn't thought about the barometer, I know that a bucket with a smaller bucket upside down inside it with water can be a barometer...

As to your question... the Sun dial/calendar wheel was a project I was working on for my collection of art...
