A complete teardown and auction rather than placing set pieces and props in storage means there is no intention of utilizing any of it again for future productions in Toronto or anywhere else.
Some other crew members have been told that Star Trek will be having a break. But then again, there seems to be a lot of talk about a possible Mike Sussman show with Scott Bakula. But the guy is 71, so I have doubts.
It's a bit unusual to preserve large set pieces. A lot of props and set pieces do get reused. Cloverfield made use of chairs from the Kelvin movies. I remember that because when they were auctioned, some clever collector recognised them as valuable Star Trek props. At the end of Enterprise, they literally bulldozed sets. I have some turbo lift panels from Star Trek Beyond that were 'rescued' out of dumpsters where the bridge and other sets were torn apart and disposed of.

If they can be designed as male in a lab, then after 800 years they certainly can have been designed as female in a lab as well.

Correct. Thursday, July 23, with the season concluding on September 24, 2026.
Great. That means it'll probably be airing when the 60th anniversary occurs on September 8th.
