So.....What's Your Theory on the Anomalies?

I can see that

Which ones are the males and which ones are the females? Also everyone has apostrophies in their names? That would be a nice name tradition. Haven't had one since the days when all Vucan names started with a S and ended with a K. Except Stonn for some reason.

Stonn's real name was actually Stonnk, but he got sick of people making jokes like 'what stonnks around here?'

There are no masculine Iconians in STO, or at the very least we never see any.

In STO there are only like 12 Iconians left alive in the 'present day', and they're all feminine.

Even in the mission where you visit Ancient Iconia (before the fall) there are only feminine Iconians. So they might be a gender neutral race.

I had no idea anyone had ever described the Iconians. I only know what I have seen on the shows which were the gateways. They do look pretty cool though. I would wonder about how one would do a show with them in terms of getting a acting performance because they look like Aliens that would be all CGI but I am sure a clever writer could figure something out.

This is what they looked like the day of the fall of their civilization, how they appear above is after several millennia of modifications to their bodies.

My theory is the red lights aren't anything but bait - like those deep-sea fish that have a biological lantern to attract prey.

Think about it: if you send out an invitation, everyone will be debating for years whether and how to answer. Just turn on some weird lights without saying a word, they can't help themselves, they'll all be so curious they just fly on over. Then SNAP.

If they're godlike beings doing godlike things, where some think they're aliens and other that they're true gods...why wouldn't they have been mentioned on DS9?

With them doing their take on the Mirror Universe last season, perhaps this is the their version of the anti-matter universe. Something that could be interesting IF done well. Probably not in Discovery then. :)

Did the mycelium network not turn red on the last jump? Maybe they passed some realm, and drew attention to the prime universe.

Yeah I'm saying it has something to do with the spores.

Put me firmly in the "spore drive side effect" camp. We have to have a reason they dropped the thing, and this is it.

Finding out was they are. What caused them. And repairing the damage will be the main arc of the season.

Actually, good point. It does turn red for a while. Perhaps this was a planted story seed for what's happening this season. I can imagine that traveling the mycelial network could take them into hostile territory while in transit or even be 'encroaching' on a different species' borders which lives in the network rather than normal space.
