So What the Frak Is 12 Going to Be Called?

I personally don't think "Star Trek" should be left out of the next. It should be "Star Trek" something, but nothing like "The Future Continues" or some such bullshit which seems to think audiences aren't smart enough to figure that out for themselves.

Not Star Trek 2, either. No number necessary.

Caught me counting chickens, have we?

Back to the system used ever since the roman numeral was dropped.

Star Trek + story title

P.S. What the smeg has FRAK got to do with Trek? :p

Also, how are they "usurping" the title?

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Inconceivable!

I think that worrying about the title for the 'next movie' is somewhat premature, considering that this one hasn't even come out yet and is hardly a guarenteed hit.

^ You don't think the Romulan War would make a good film?

I think they should have the Klingons as the main antagonists in ST XII. They haven't been a focus in the movies since 1991. By the time XII comes out, it will have been 20 years.

Similar to how there were almost 20 years between Jokers. They need to bring back the Klingons and with style.

I do not see how you can think the title has been usurped. A usurper is someone who illegally holds power and JJ was legitimately given authority of this movie by the studio so he is not a usurper and has every right to call this movie Star Trek.

However, it is a good question on what to call a sequel to this movie. I guess we will have to see what the next story line is to know what to call it.

Shouldn't we worry about the sequel AFTER this one actually comes out, or is that asking too much?

Monty Python's The Meaning of Star Trek

"Better get a bucket, I'm going to reboot"

Monty Python's Life of Star Trek

"Always look on the bright side of a reboot"

Monty Python and the Holy Star Trek Canon

"I reboot in your general direction"

The Dark Captain

It's going to blow everyone's expectations and make a billion dollars at the box office.

*Borg, Klingon, Romulans and Xindi sit around a table in a kitchen of a restaurant*

Khan- A year ago these federation and starfleet people wouldn't dare cross you. What happened? did your balls drop off?

You do have a point, but we are all Trek fans here, after all. "Waiting and seeing" is so unexciting, when "rampant speculation based upon very little" is an available option and costs nothing. :)
