So what events from the prime trekverse are unaffected by the reboot?

Re: So what events from the prime trekverse are unaffected by the rebo

LOL. Michael Dorn in two different make ups as two different Klingon characters proves that they were only adding variety to the Klingon ridges, they were not redesigning the Klingons. And I love how the basic lines of Col. Worf's "ridges" resembles TNG Worf's ridges.

And then that's not what I meant when I said "You can't redesign Klingons in this universe". TeutonicKnights got the point, you didn't, Nerys Myk.
So enlighten me. In what other way would they be "redesigning" the Klingons other that a modification of the make up? ( something they've done before)

*facepalm*

Because it's been established that the timeline only splits from the Prime universe when the Kelvin gets blown up, the point was made that you can't redesign the Klingons because the Klingon look is well established ie. you can't turn them all into giant fish or something.

And you can't turn their characters into honorless child raping Orks, for example.

Evidence this has/will happened? So far we've seen a non radical make up change and new costume ( neither is unprecedented). They seem to me the same belligerent jerks they always been. No sign of "fishes". ENT already established that there are bumpy head Klingons and smooth heads, so one more variation of bumpy shouldn't be an issue.

Given the Klingons reputation in TOS, "honorless child raping Orks" would probably be close to the avarage UFP citizens opinion of the Empire.

We're not saying it's happened/will happen : /
True, you're saying it can't happen. I say it has happened.(and in the Prime Universe) The Klingon make up and costumes were changed ( or modified) for each film. Even the character of the Klingons were changed in TNG. They went from being conniving commie-totalitarians to honorable viking-samurais. Since the writers are TNG fans I doubt they will stray too far from the latter. But they might, just not into giant fish territory.

Re: So what events from the prime trekverse are unaffected by the rebo

It would be extremely sloppy writing and I hate the fact that it will probably happen that way.

Well, this -is- a reboot, which, honestly is fine. Keep in mind that we see things changed heavily in this NuVerse BEFORE the time-travel could affect anything. Simple the very AGES of some characters changed, for instance.

Though I expect we'll see official 'NuVerse' versions of a lot of 'PrimeVerse' things over the next few years, we'll all just have to keep in mind that this really is a reboot, and the old rules are tossed out.
