You should, there's a kick ass fight scene between Big T and one of the Hirogens that is worth the price of the book all by itself.
Yes, and no. It would help if you've read the DS9 Relaunch, but you don't need to have read any of the other Gateways books. The Gateways books were all one big story, but each book was pretty much standalone focusing specifically on that series characters, and the area of the space they are in. While it would help if you'd read the previous DS9R books, I think you will probably be ok if you jump right into it. Just keep in mind that it is the fourth book in the ongoing series. It's actually probably one of the most standalone books in the series.
Dark Teatime is completely different Adams. Almost like a different person wrote it. I last read it probably 12 years ago though, so YMMV.I got Enterprise The Romulan warbook today and Douglas Adams Dark Teatime for the soul.I enjoyed reading the Hitchhiker guide to the galaxy novels.
Oh, I think Dark Teatime was definitely written by the same bloke who wrote the last two Hitchhiker books. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, though, is much better IMHO, and closer to the fellow who wrote Restaurant at the End of the Universe and Life, the Universe, and Everything.Dark Teatime is completely different Adams.
