Now I'm on to American Ruins by Camilo José Vergara, a collection of photographs of urban decay and abandoned buildings.
Geeze, I'm behind! Here's what I've read in the past month or so:

Comics
- Green Arrow: The Archer's Quest by Brad Meltzer
- Green Arrow: City Walls by Judd Winick
- Superman Batman: Supergirl by Jeph Loeb

School Books I Didn't Finish In the Spring

- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll
- King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard
- Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens

Science Fiction Anthologies

- Thrilling Wonder Stories, Summer 2007 edited by Winston Engle
- Thrilling Wonder Stories, Volume 2 edited by Winston Engle
- Full-Throttle Space Tales #3: Space Grunts edited by Dayton Ward

Exam Reading
- The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
- Death of a Salesman: Certain private conversations in two acts and a requiem by Arthur Miller
- A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf
- Clear Light of Day by Anita Desai
- Anil's Ghost by Michael Ondaatje

Something Else
- Outside the Dog Museum by Jonathan Carroll

Right now I am reading His Dark Materials, Books Two: The Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman (a reread) for my own edification and The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James for my exam.

I finished Elizabeth Hay's Garbo Laughs, a mainstream literary novel (i.e., a classic example of the literary novel as a genre rather than as a statement of quality, though I liked it well enough) set here in Ottawa a few years back. Nice to see a novel mention the pub I've going to since 1987, Irene's.

Then I read Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist, the novel on which the recent movie was based. Turns out the movie is very faithful to the book, but there are a number of elements in the second half of the book, mostly involving supporting characters, that didn't make it into the movie, and a lot of what is hinted at in the movie is more explicit in the book. So I'm kind of glad I saw the movie first, getting the shorter version and then the longer version. Both are recommended, even if you think you're burned out on vampires.

Currently reading the Doctor Who novel Colony of Lies by Colin Brake, featuring the Second Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe.

Read Psych: A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Read by William Rabkin and the GI JOE movie prequel novel by Max Allan Collins. Now about to dive into the second volume of the annotated Sherlock Holmes.

Finished Novik's Throne of Jade and it's even better than Temeraire. I love the way she's seamlessly introduced dragons and aerial combat into the Napoleonic era. The style is right, the language is dead on and it's a joy to read. Will get to the other books in the series when I have the time.

Have also finished reading the The Escape by Smith and Rusch and although it was slow to start with, it was an enjoyable read. Time travel really does give me a headache though, so I was glad when it was over.

I'm now reading The Covenant of Genesis, the fourth book in the Wilde/Chase series from our very own trek fan, Andy McDermott. And The Murdered Sun by Christie Golden, lets see if I enjoy this one any more than I have enjoyed her others.

I finished The Subtle Knife, but my library's copy of The Amber Spyglass is not where it's supposed to be, so I can't continue on as yet. My girlfriend owns the first two but not the third (she lost it), so I think I'll buy the third, read it, and then pass it on to her. In the meantime, I've started Iris Wildthyme and the Celestial Omnibus, and I've been dipping in and out of Star Wars: The Essential Atlas.

It has been a while since I have been able to sit down and write a new post. In fact within that time frame I managed to finish two ST novels. The first was "Foundations" which is actually the story of how Mr. Scott became involved with the SCE. There are lots of flashbacks in the book and the adventure that Scotty undertakes actually takes place before his posting on the Enterprise. Overall a good story and naturally it is Scotty to the rescue. An enjoyable read and Dayton Ward and Kevin Dillmore did a reat job in tying up some lose ends. Highly recommended to all TOS and SCE fans.

This isn't Trek book, but a sci-fi book. Currently starting on Ben Bova's Aftermath, taken from my University's library. Belatedly found that's its the last of a series. Hoping it doesn't require reading the previous books, or I've to trudge back to the library and hope its there.

I am currently reading Maximum Warp Book Two: Forever Dark.

I just finished Maximum Warp Book One: Dead Zones last night and I thought it to be..okay. I don't really like how Captain Jean-Luc Picard was written at all.

I just finished Reading A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson. I also like Max Allen Collins historical mysteries that take place on Historical ships like the Oceanic.I've been wanting find to the rest of the books in this series.Hopefully my local library will have them.

I actually managed to find The Never-Ending Sacrifice at work today, so I'm going to set aside The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in order to read it. I'm enjoying TGwtDT, but of all the books I'm reading it's probably the one I'm least interested in at this point. I also just finished the first part of the book, so I'm at a good place to stop.

I hate to say this, but I'm reading book 4 of the Harry Potter series. (For the second time that is...) It's very bad for my steampunk level, makes me want to put copper on everything, dont know why!

I think it would be best to order some ST novels, done reading everything that was on the shelves at home. (Including a lot of OLD stuff, Greek myths etc.)

just finished Vanguard: Open Secrets, and currently midway through Titan: Over a Torrent Sea.

got a bunch of old TOS novels, which I'm going to have to decide whether to jump right in or save for a later time..

Other than that, it's the monthly comic book series...

(yeah, it's a slow reading period :) )

Now that the summer semester is over, I've finally been able to dig into the books that I've been waiting to read. Already finished The Soul Key. I'm currently half-way through Losing the Peace. Up next, I'll do something that I never thought I would do - read a VOY novel (Full Circle). I'm going to need something to read as a lay on the beach during vacation in a few weeks. Thinking of reading something non-Trek. Haven't settled on anything yet.

Just finished Maximum Warp Book Two. It was...okay.

Now I am reading the DS9 novel The Big Game.
