Why did the Federation apparently mass produce the synthetics in the first place, when one of the key arguments for Data in "Measure of a Man" was that Maddox's original proposal would have made a sort of slave race, arguably? I'm sure they'll get to this eventually, but right now I'm mainly curious.
It may end up tying in to that, it all depends in what Picard finds when he reaches the nest. We may end up finding out that it wasn't the Zhat Vash who triggered the attack on Mars at all, although they are the number one suspect at the moment.
Will Laris, Zhaban and Number One ever reappear? Is Number One actually a synthetic who's the mastermind behind all of this? And why bother building so many synthetics when they apparently have all the outdated EMHs working as slaves already, according to Voyager Author, Author.
I want Laris and Zhaban promoted as main cast members for S2. As for "Number One," I personally would like Picard's real Number One (Riker) to join the series as a regular cast member. However since I believe Frakes would've preferred sitting in the director's chair rather than acting these days, I can accept Picard's dog promoted as La Siena's mascot .
The fifth mystery is that Dahj and Soji are just part of a group of new humanoid synth developed by Maddox. There are five more being developed and Picard and Co must find and search who these Final Five Synths are
They talk about it in Una McCormacks book. The only way Geordie and team on Utopia Planitia could make the components needed for evacuation fleet, they needed a bigger workforce than what was available. So one of Geordie's engineers who was all about bioneural gel packs collaborated with Maddox to build simple Androids to do the work. They were never capable of sentience which skirted around the whole Measure of a Man slave race allegory.
I think you've nailed it. Why did the Synth attack Mars??? Because they wanted their independence. Why do the Zhat Vash hate synthetic life? Because this double secret Romulan group created the Borg. What was synth twins mission? To establish themselves into a new Borg super race along with their father... Lore. Who is the Synth Twins 'father'? My friend you've already answered that question and with the turtle pacing of this series it hard for me not to believe other wise. Time will tell. I thought I had a fifth but I've forgotten. Well, I can ask one, How does these limited, un-imaginative writers get Q into the mix? I have a crazy thought, not one android or cyborg has mentioned Geordi La Forge, who on TNG seemed to highly love this man. What if, just what if... the father of all this was none other than Geordi La Forge? These writers are not going there, so this is just hypothetical: do you remember the thing that was going on with the synth's eyes when it attacked Mars? Isn't it familiar to what La Forge synth eyes was doing in the movie "First Contact"?
1. Why did the Synths attack Mars? 2. Why do the Zhat Vash hate synths? 3. Why did the Cube breakdown after assimilating those Romulans? 4. Why did said Romulans all go insane? 5. Why did Jurati kill Maddox? 6. What was her contribution? 7. Do La Sirena replicate snakeweed & booze for Raffi or she just have a huge stash?
They were programmed to. They're an ancient Vulcan organization formed in the times of the Sargonians who were at war with an AI hundreds of thousands of years ago. Pretty much. Figure out what happened on Mars. Bruce Maddox. But Picard considers them to be Data's kids, and that's probably who they are programmed to see when the face unblurs. They are more or less resurrections of Data and will eventually have access to his memories. For intimidation. Probably not. Her eyes aren't black. Most. But who isn't synthetic is a question. The Remans. Romulans are genetically engineered not to be assimilatable. Non-synthetic life. Most of them. Desmond. Kristin Shepard. Tigh, Ellen, Tyrol, Anders, and Tory. They don't. The singer is just infatuated with the person he is talking about. Tim. At Wendy's. As much wood as a woodchuck could. Nobody. Because they chose to be. Gwyneth Paltrow's head. Baja Men. Their dad's ghost. Maggie. A combination of recentism and some admittedly solid writing. Completionism and admittedly some who want it to become better. A virus powered down the cube or caused catastrophic failure to the assimilation process. Suliban. No to either. They were supposed to be inferior. It probably wasn't Picard's idea. Yes. In the finale at least. No. They realized it was wrong to enslave the EMHs, who they then shut off forever. Q steps in when Picard gets himself killed and tsks tsks him. Geordi's smart, but he's no cyberneticist. Their minds were rewired. Spoiler: Nepenthe Leak I guess she thought it was a good idea. She's a freaking homicidal maniac, if that's the case, but the leaked episode does seem to imply it's not mind control. She's tagging along thanks to Oh. The booze is replicated. She probably bought some snakeweed herself.
As long as it has plenty of Fizzbin action, I'm in. Part of her, perhaps. But I suspect it's from somewhere further south than her head. None, 42 or 47. All are acceptable answers.
