^It's set the bar high for Disco S3, that's for sure. One only hopes Discovery honors the more common trend of Trek series hitting their stride in the third season. Picard has - up to this point - chosen to skip the fairly consistent 'subpar first two seasons' rule, thankfully.

The Twin's father is Maddox. And, as has already been stated, 1 answers 3. At least, that's part of it. Perhaps his digging would have eventually struck upon the secret of the Zhat Vash.

Its highly likely that all the mysteries are connected but we wont uncover all of them in the first season.

This season will probably just deal with:

We will find out about the big secret, hope it isn't a damp squib.
Meet Soji/Dahj father who may not be Maddox after all, it feels a bit too obvious.
We may also find out who was behind the attack on Mars, assuming it is not Zhat Vash.
Soji/Dahj origins will be covered so it will be out of the way and at the same time a new challenge will be given see below.
What was so special about the Romulan vessel or its cargo.

The other main mysteries will be for future seasons:

Who caused the Supernova and why.
Who are the other members of the Cabal.
Others to be unveiled.
