So Primeval survives again

Wamdue's original post said that was ust a spin off which still supports some characters from the original series wandering through or setting up shop.

I like Primeval.

After the final episode there's full disclosure, no more secrets everyone short of Donna Nobel knows about dinosaurs and time portals now which means an international effort all of a sudden, not that several countries were probably engaging in their on programs to deal with the phenomonem.

I am such a whore.

The article I saw yesterday said differently...

The 13, one-hour episodes - said to have a budget of $2.5 (£1.6m) per episode - will follow a group of North American scientists and animal experts who investigate the arrival of prehistoric and futuristic creatures in the modern day world. The show will feature a "younger, sexier" cast, while storylines will also explore characters' relationships.

Production will begin in Vancouver in the winter, with the show expected to air in a 9pm slot during autumn next year. "This will be a bigger, better, badder re-imagining of the show, rather than a continuation," said Impossible managing director Jonathan Drake.
Younger than the last cast? Wasn't the comms girl like 19 or something in the last series?

Younger and Sexier, it's Primeval:Jailbait

the young cast thing does concern me, I still remember Spooks: Code 9.

Different articles seem to be telling different stories, that is annoying.

Please, please, don't let any Stargate writer/producers anywhere near it...

A couple of former Stargate writer/executive producers have recently left the Cinemax TV version of The Transporter which is in production in Toronto, where they were showrunners over creative differences, so this new series might very well be up their street.

I just want to see them using appropriate weapons.

Harpoons and carbon-steel cables.

It's how Luke took down that AT-AT after all.

This is kind of a surprise. I didn't think Space could afford to produce anything more expensive than Todd and the Book of Pure Evil.

Truth be told, I never did get into Primeval before, so I doubt I'll be watching this new series. But still, interesting news all the same.

My point is Space doesn't really have a lot of money, so even co-producing a show like this is really unexpected.

If it is a reimaging or a reboot, you do understand that that means that they can reuse all the dinosaur footage with new actors screaming and running on blue screen?

It's like how they inserted American actors into all the original "classic" Japanese Power Ranger episodes, so that the American producers didn't need models, foam rubber suits or actors with black belts in taekwondo.

That would give them the illusion of producing a TV show 10 times more expensive than it actually is, especially since all the cgi in question is still of an exception quality and standard.
