So, Dreamworks is remaking "The Avengers"

- Pre-established heroes with different powers
- A homogenous, dark alien invasion threat
- A raspy British villain
- Atmospheric disturbances in the sky, presumably opening portals to other worlds
- A tricked-out aerial vehicle for our heroes
- In 3D!
- You can bet your butt the sequel script is in the works.

It's called Rise of the Guardians, not to be confused with Legend of the Guardians or any of the dozen other "Rise of the..." movies to have come out in the past ten years.

I got a baffled look from the cashier when I just happened to wear my old AVENGERS tee-shirt to the grocery store the other day. She was clearly wondering where Iron Man and the Hulk were--and who the guy in the bowler hat was!
