So does this all mean that....?

I've been waiting for a definitive statement since the moment we saw the Artifact...but with all these disconnected drones, is this an indication that Admiral Janeway's pathogen was successful in crippling the Collective? Or is everything we've seem pertain only to that single cube?

I think they will treat it the "The Borg are defeated, but still out there" - route.
A way that is a possible sequel to Best of Both Worlds, First Contact AND Voyager. But also works perfectly well if you only ever saw a single one of those three.

I don’t think that the Artifact was crippled because of Admiral Janeway. All signs indicate that it was crippled once the Borg in that cube assimilated the crew of the Shaenor (i.e. assimilating a Romulan fucks up the Borg.)

I very much doubt an entity as vast and spread out as the Collective can be completely wiped out so easily.

Don't get me wrong Janeway hurt them bad and cost them another Queen after FC, that doesn't mean she was the only one or that she cant be replaced.

No doubt some would have survived due to being too far away, out of contact or shielded from the effects.

I'm half expecting any mention of Admiral Janeway to be that she's in prison for violating the Temporal Prime Directive in "Endgame". It would fit so neatly into Picard's version of the Trek world.

Which can't be the case, because VOY has showed us Romulans who were former drones.

Yes, but that’s most likely going to be ignored if it doesn’t jibe with the story they’re trying to tell. And for all we know, those Romulan Borg did indeed cause problems with whatever ship they were on.

Blowing up the Queen in the past apparently doesnt stop her. I think the main damage was to their transwarp hub system, and that was 20 years ago, so I think they could have repaired all of that a long time ago. I think that the Borg deliberately sabotaged the ship as a trojan horse. VOY showed assimilated Romulans without any evidence that assimilating them would be a problem. Not sure why, even if they were all synths that would present any issue for them as they assimilate tech and AI's all the time.

Precisely this. They’ve been very clear about this on the show, in fact.

The Borg are very much still out there, this cube just isn’t connected to them. Heck, it suggests the Borg were still being nosey in the Alpha Quadrant even after Janeway’s attack on them in Endgame, unless the cube itself was already over this way when that happened.

The cube disconnected from the Collective in 2384, five years after "Endgame."
What was on that Romulan ship that could cause a Borg cube to collapse without a shot being fired.

Whatever it is everyone is going to want it.

It cant be Soji or Dahj as they had not been created yet.

If we checked the exact date of the event on the Borg cube and cross referenced it with the attack on Mars something tells me they would be a match, in which case did the Borg cube collapse trigger the attack on Mars or the other way around.

Alternatively was there another event or player that triggered both, with the attack on the Romulan vessel being nothing more than coincidence.

For me the No 1 suspect for the Mars attack is still Jurati as she is currently the only one with the means, motive and opportunity required to pull it off, was the event investigated or was it covered up by the overall conspiracy.

I find it laughable that anyone would think a coordinated attack like that could be triggered by a software error.
