So do you suppose/assume that B4 eventually becomes Data?

Re: So do you suppose/assume that B4 eventually becomes Data

I blame Data's death %80 on Brent Spiner.
%20 on Berman/Bragga.

%0 on the Romulans and Shinzon. As far as I'm concerned, they are innocent parties.

 Why do people keep assuming Berman and Braga are joined at the hip or something? Brannon Braga had absolutely nothing to do with Star Trek Nemesis in any way, shape or form. Braga wasn't Berman's equal partner, he worked for Rick Berman, in the same way that Maurice Hurley, Michael Piller, Jeri Taylor, Ira Behr, Ken Biller, and Manny Coto did before and after him. He was a staff writer/producer on TNG and VGR, he was the showrunner of three (and a half) seasons of VGR and three of ENT, he co-scripted the first two TNG movies as Ron Moore's writing partner, and that was it. He had nothing to do with Insurrection or Nemesis, because he was busy making TV shows at the time.

B4 really had two reasons to exist in the film. One was as a dopppelganger of Data, a comparable role that Shinzon has as Picard's doppelganger.

The other was as a blatantly unsubtle backdoor to resurrect Data, should another movie including TNG characters be made. Had it been made, I have no doubt that B4 would become Data. At this point, however, the question is academic.

The point I'm making is that it has more to do with B/B than Shinzon.

But focused mainly on Spiner. He lobbied hard to kill off Data during the TNG film era. I'd be interested to know what he thinks of the future of B4.

Oh well. Never say never. Maybe in the future B4 will have his own spinoff series.

And that point is wrong because Brannon Braga had no connection whatsoever to Star Trek: Nemesis. If you want to blame Rick Berman, fine, but it's totally unfair to blame Brannon Braga for a decision in a movie he did not work on. Berman and Braga are separate people. Braga was employed by Berman on TNG, VGR, ENT, GEN, and FC, they worked as writing partners on ENT, and that was it. They didn't do every single thing together, and assuming they did is lazy and ignorant, because even a cursory glance at the screen credits can prove otherwise.

Re: So do you suppose/assume that B4 eventually becomes Data

I guess in order for B4 to "become" Data, he would have to go through Starfleet Academy again.

Like in "Simultude" on Enterprise, Archer doesn't let Sim/Trip wear a uniform, or even enter Tucker's quarters. Let are different people, even though they are the same.

It's such a shame. Data as a captain would have been really interesting. And there's no reasonably believable way to bring it into fanfic, is there?

I guess in the All Good Things QFuture, Data became a professor and that's pretty boring.
