in the episode where “mr Clamp dude” steals the symbiont did he die at the end since once they’re joined there’s no going back, or is there some sort of time limit. They didn’t say in the episode I don’t think.

It was implied at least he wasn't blended long enough for his immune system to go away.

I'm curious in this episode what it implies that he did not take on Dax's morality, that maybe the symbiant's personality is not as strong as sometimes implied.

Given what we saw of Curzon Dax, morality may not be the symbiont's strong suit.

I wouldn't say that... Curzon Dax certainly wasn't interested in following rules just because they were rules, but I think he had a strong moral sense. See how offended he was at the Albino.

But how much of that was Curzon and how much was Dax?

The rules for host selection seem to prevent hosts with questionable moral sense from being joined, at least if they go through the normal selection process. Joran Dax didn't seem to have much of a moral sense, but the other joined Daxes did. Ezri didn't get the full selection process, but Starfleet also selects for a moral sense, and tries to amplify it at the Academy as well.

There's plenty of ways one can have dubious morality without going as far as taking a life.

Until SMALLVILLE, I called him Verad Dax. Now I call him that AND Lionel Luthor.

But yeah, that episode of the 1985-1989 Twilight Zone is one of my favorites too. Except I completely forgot until now that he played the alien.

I've gotta say, Glover's acting left me very flat at the time (and I still think the episode is kind of meh), but it's grown on me a bit with rewatches.
