So did Bashir and Ezri ever make it legal

^ Best thing that could have happened, Bashir was way too good for Ezri.

I have no idea where Bashir even is in the novels. You don't see him in Destiny, for example (unless it's such a brief appearance I missed it).

Is he dead?

The DS9 novels are in 2376/7 at the moment, so they are around four years "behind" the Destiny series. They would have avoided saying too much about the DS9 characters so not to restrict future novels too much and keep some uncertainty around the characters' fate.

Last I recall was him putting Ro Laren and Kira back together again after a certain Jem'Hadar tore through them. Bashir and most of the other DS9 characters are still like 4 years away from 'Destiny' time.

^ And I read that there won't be an artificial jump like with Voyager to bring them in line. Not that I'm complaining.

I thought the latest Voyager book was a "bridging" novel to bring the series up to and past Destiny?

^ It was, but as I read it it seemed like there was a lot missed.

I didn't think so. The first half wrapped up the dangling threads from the previous four books, and then the second half set them up for new ones. And in the time between the two halves, Chakotay is basically getting 'comet-watching' duties because he disobeyed Starfleet orders, going to help B'Ellana instead of proceeding to interogate the Changeling that had been their antagonist in the previous two books.

Don't know But Kira and Bashir are quite the item in real life
not anymore and I don't think the Ezri and Bashir relationship really worked. I always felt in the series that they should have had more permenent partners that weren't in the main cast like Keiko O'Brien and Kasidy. I think that would have worked and don't see why they had to keep pairing the main characters

I always thought the writers should have gone down the ezri and jake could have been much more interesting rather than ezri & bashir.

i don't think Ezri and Bashir really worked, 2 very different personalities...well 9 if you count all the lifetimes of the Dax symbiote. Ezri got more confident towards the end of the season, but she didn't need to be with someone she needed to find herself rather than have a relationship, but then she jumped into the Command Function as well, more responsibility for her as well as a relationship.

And as other have said, it would have been nice to have some sort of reference in the Destiny stories to DS9
