So, Blood Fever.

I really liked Blood Fever. I think that the whole point was for the characters to "Act like idiots" (As Lynx so eloquently put it in the Kes Website) Because it IS a hormonal imbalance and they aren't SUPPOSED to be in their right minds. If they weren't "Acting like idiots" not only would the episode have no reason to exist but it also undermines the effects of things like Pon Farr. I thought it was also a really good episode for Tom Paris, it makes him seem less like a "Ladies man" and more like someone who actually cares for B'Elanna (when he refuses to take advantage of B'Elanna). I'm interested to hear some of your thoughts on the episode!

I liked Blood Fever too. It was the first hint of the B'Elanna/Tom relationship, and it was our first lead up to Scorpion with the Borg reveal. At the time approaching Borg Space was exciting and they hadn't done too much with the Borg yet. To have that hint and then Unity and then Scorpion made for a nice trifecta that season.

Vorik actually had potential as a character: a Vulcan who was fairly young, and maybe didn't quite have full command of either his emotions or his mental abilities. If VOY had done what DS9 did and pursued character development of both primary and secondary characters, he could have been one of the latter.

I agree that he could have been a very fun character to build on. The only vulcan representation we really get in Voyager is Tuvok, and badass (and Logical) as he is, I think Voyager had a lot more opportunities for Character development that they just didn't apply to the Vulcans. this makes Vorik seem like a flat character who's really only even relevant in blood fever and Tuvok just seem like a wet blanket. (and I say this with a 6.5 foot Tuvok Cardboard cutout in my room:vulcan:. He's my favorite character because he has his moments that I really enjoy but I feel like you have to really be open-minded with him especially because of all the other interesting characters that can overshadow him)
