SMG to star in Buffy sequel series from Chloé Zhao

It sounds like a sequel not a reboot... which I'd be up for more than a reboot.

I want some Buffy again in my life... I could get behind this. And with Buffy older you can tell a different story.

I don't understand why the entertainment press can't use the term reboot properly. It has a specific meaning, and this isn't it. They correctly call it a revival in the article and then go on to call it a reboot yet again later!
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less."

I wonder what method they will use to walk back the "every potential Slayer is now a Slayer" thing. ;)

Heck yeah, I want to see the state of the world is like 20 years after what happened in the series finale. (Yes, I've read the "season eight" comics. I'm sure this will go in a different direction.)

Cool, I'd definitely be up for a new Buffy series, and as one of the few people who likes The Eternals, Chole Zhao's involvement makes me even more interested.

I thought reboot just meant to start it again, and it can mean both a revival and to start over from scratch.

They might not, there have already been at least 2 or 3 continuations that didn't undo it. The Season 8-12, and the post-Season 7 novels used it, but I'm not sure about the In Every Generation novels.

I would prefer that they not "Undo that" and just accept it and play with it.

Wouldn't it be more interesting if there was a entire world of "Slayers".

The story telling potential is endless.

It's been nearly 22 years since the last episode of Buffy aired.

I could imagine what a entire world filled with "Slayers" could do.

Y'all probably right...it's also a good out for if the show keeps going but SMG decides to leave.

When you computer goes limp and you press the big round button on the front, is all your shit still all where you left it? Thought so.

They used the term correctly.

Turns out the SMG is actually Sonequa Martin-Green. ;)
But what happens if we get both SMG's on the same show?

Sarah Michelle Gellar + Sonequa Martin-Green.

Both Action Heroine Leading Ladies who are the professors of the Slayers.

And both SMG's (Sarah Michelle Gellar & Sonequa Martin-Green) can both "Dual Wield SMGs (Sug-Machine Guns)" in the show when fighting hordes of monsters.

I had a feeling something was coming as she'd be saying recently that she was open to playing the part again after many years of saying the opposite.

no joss whedon might also be very big factor in her return.

If they decide to use spike and angel they'll probably come up with a story like vampires' skin is 'starting to wear off' for old vampire characters.

Also one slayer in our tiny town made little sense really. The world is large.

They can easily fudge over this. Focus on one slayer or a couple in a limited area.
