Smart TV help

I got a new smarttv, a Samsung tv. But the YouTube TV and the YouTube itself appears to be taking up only a quarter of the screen. I tried to google it, but it doesn't appear to understand my predicament. Can anyone here help?

Is it a 4K tv?

Is the youtube running from an app on the tv or from the laptop or android box?

one other late thought - is the any settings for picture in picture? possible relating to the input?

If coming from the box or laptop? what happens if you just go to the normal desktop?
Looks almost like the what ever is running proving the content doesn't know it's got all that space to play with.

Never mind. It seems it doesn't need the apple tv I've been using for years. It works fine without it. Weird. I think I'll connect it to the old TV I put in the bedroom later, for when one of us wants to watch something while the other is sleeping .

My mom would flip over about it. She used to complain about ending up watching bad shows in their bedroom when Dad fell asleep, before I was born

Thanks
