So, amidst all this talk about selling the farm and moving to Metropolis and their busy commuter lifestyles, what about the dog? How come Shelby wasn't hanging out on the porch with them--or barking at the pushy realtor lady?

And who is feeding the poor mutt anyway?

Oh yeah, Shelby....apartments don't normally allow dogs to be there. I guess Shelby has been retconned out.

We usually see Shelby about once a season, just to remind us he's still alive, but it seemed odd that, in an episode that was all about the farm being their home, they never even mentioned the dog!

Now that I think of it, they also missed out on a potentially good scene where Shelby realizes right away that "Clark" isn't really Clark.

"I don't understand, why is he growling at you?"

Didn't you see the episode where Shelby flew away and communicated with Clark via kryptonian stones?

Clark- I wish people would stop flying!

;)

What a horrible filler episode. None of the main characters developed or advanced in any way. Not one scene in the entire episode will need to be in later 'previously on Smallville' segments. And with so few episodes left it is really a shame that there is no momentum gathering for the finale at all. Selling the farm is the best way to shake things up? Really? That is it?

It did make me wonder just how they are budgeting Smallville for the last half of this season. This episode felt very bottle-like and cheap. Hopefully they're saving every penny for the finale.

They can only get that dog when he's available :) But yeah lack of Shelby is another inconsistent problem lol.

@Scout 101 you've never dropped into check out most of these threads? This isn't the first time we've discussed cleavage on the show and what's creepy about admiring Cassidy's beauty?

I still enjoyed this episode. I like when we see evil Clark just so that you realize that Welling actually can act. Then there was Tess in the Dress. I turned to my wife and said, "Honey, I'm sorry but that is an awesome dress!"
I suppose the point of this one was to show Clark finally basing himself in Metropolis and leaving Smallville behind. Kind of a long way to get there though.

He doesn't know why you all are talking about cleavage instead of the intricate, carefully woven, character-driven plotlines with lots of depth and meaning which were painstakingly planned out months in advance.

Is commuting really a big deal when Clark can run to anywhere on the planet withing a few seconds?

Unless U-Clark had an affair with the real estate agent and later on that baby is going to be dropped off on the Kent doorstep.

She was awesome.

- Love the Chloe av Proc. I'll give that a "Superman". The episode? I gave that an "average" and that was being generous. It was just an hour of padding and filler.

- I thought I misheard Jonathan when he said he found gold. I dismissed the "gold k" reference and thought he meant that figuratively, that he struck "gold" by finding kryptonite. The revelation that they really were gold k rocks got my attention. I wonder where they'll go with that in the next few episodes. My first thought was maybe they'll be used against alternate universe Clark, but it looks like he's on a better path, so who knows...

No, that's Finale. Because, you know, Superman would be a stupid idea for it...
I thought they should name the final episode "Superman" as well, but it would be too revealing for anyone who hasn't seen the show and decided to look over the episode titles.

The jokes write themselves.
:rommie:

Everyone has there own meteor rock in this world? That means everyone has their very own douche repellent.

That's a cool idea though.
I can picture it now... Clark stumbling down the street as he tries to avoid everyone pointing their rocks at him.

Clark will visit Martha when he can? Um....you can get to DC in about five seconds, dumbass! Visit your fucking mother!
Doesn't a senator have to maintain a residence in their home state?

I like MU Clark. I think it shows how capable Welling really is and that he was perhaps reigned in/restricted too much by the directors/creators most of these 10 years in his portrayal as Clark.
Yeah, he was pretty good.

Holy Mackerel, Andy! Those babies look like they're going to pop right out of that dress!
Dammit! I always miss these things. Don't know why I didn't notice.

It was a nice ending. I'm only sorry Annette O'Toole didn't appear at the end.
I kind of thought it was her at the door for a split second eventhough she wasn't scheduled for an appearance.

I wondered where Shelby was too. I still think they should have gotten a white dog and named it Krypto. What a missed opportunity.

...or her fiery hot angry sexual energy?

There we go. She's looked better. Maybe that's why I didn't take notice. Or maybe I was too distracted by the old cliché... bad-guy-sends-woman-a-dress-in-a-box-and-she-puts-it-on-and-goes-to-meet-him-for-dinner-as-instructed-by-the-note.

^ That is what I assumed as well. Another inconsistency of the series? Do we know the circumstances over Annette's departure? Did she outright ask for her release? Or did the producers not resign her? I would have asked her if she wanted to be a reoccurring character with maybe two or three appearances a season.

Another episode, this close to the end, and no real progress again. No glasses either, again. Really letting me down for the series finale that is so close now.

Remember earlier in the season, when Smallville used to be 3-4 hours away from Metropolis? Seems like it got closer every year, to the point where Lois and Clark now apparently commute daily. Details have never been a strong suit for this show...

Or the State Senate race. First off, for a billionaire like Lex Luthor, a lowly State Senate seat is beneath him. But on top of that, they didn't even portray the Senate race correctly. A State Senate race is like a congressional seat....they represent a district. On the show, Jonathan and Lex are campaigning all over the state.
