Tess learns that General Slade was found unconscious on a street corner, proof that someone has gained access to the Phantom Zone’s escape portal and sent him back. Clark decides to return to the exiled land to make sure other phantoms are not fleeing and is furious when Oliver tricks Clark into taking him along. With Clark’s powers gone, the two are immediately captured by the Zoners who take them to their new leader, Zod, who is thirsting for revenge on Clark for banishing him to this Kryptonian jail. Meanwhile, Lois learns Clark trusted Tess with a secret, but didn’t tell Lois.

Great. More episodes with washed-out colors.

Sigh.

Meh. Maybe there will be something good in this ep but from the promos...I don't think there will be. :sigh:

You know what the sad part is? Only three chats left.

This is the Zod who is already in the Phantom Zone and not Major Zod I would assume. He was sent elsewhere after Operation Hug it out by Clark.

This ep would've been a perfect opportunity to bring back Phil Morris as John Jones. It's a pity that this final season will pass without us getting one last show with our favorite Martian.

Zod, who is thirsting for revenge on Clark for banishing him to this Kryptonian jail.

^ Yep this is General Zod. This is what makes it marginally interesting and why i'm still deciding.

Don't these two things conflict? The write-up makes it look like we're seeing the same clone Zod who was in last season, NOT the General Zod who was banished to the PZ before Krypton blew up. Of course, that begs the question of where the real Zod is, i guess. Stuck in another plot hole?

I'm with Pipes on this. I'm not really sad that the show is ending as much as I am that we will no longer have the commentaries. For me, that's been the best part of the SV experience; even when the show didn't deliver, we were more than capable of entertaining ourselves.

Good times. They will be missed.

I forget, are their powers stripped in the PZ? And is it because lack of yellow sun?

The Zone is basically Krypton or, understood another way, not under the influence of the yellow-sun (established in Smallville as being what gives Kryptonians powers) so there's no powers in The Zone.

TVLINE | The promos suggest a 300-style look to the action sequences. Was that something you had in mind, or did it come from the producers?
I’m glad that you saw that because it is something I had in mind. We had this unbelievable DP with a really great eye, so I knew I was in good hands there, but because of the budget we came up short on the whole weapons thing. I’m sitting there going, “We have a gladiator episode, what are we supposed to do, step into the arena and argue with each other? ” So one of the guys had this brilliant idea. [The 2006 Zack Snyder film] 300 was a Warner Bros. production, and we got a ton of stuff from them to use — the masks, the armor…. And then our wardrobe lady built this other stuff out of, like, hockey gear. It turned into something a lot bigger than it was originally.

Geez US! :p Thanks Justin.
