Smallville Summer Hiatus Discussion Thread

They should do a Crime Syndicate episode. They could use Owlman and have him be Thomas Wayne, unless the embargo extends to all Batman related characters. A smallville version of Ultraman would be a trip. I'd just like to see Erica dressed in the Superwoman costume haha.

Would we bring Pete... OH! Birng back Flash Gordon as Johnny Quick, and Sam Jones as Power Ring... Unless the new actors casted would be paving chalk for hal Jordan/John Stewart and Barry/Wally in upcoming episodes?

How impossible would it be to get Ryan Reynolds to slum it as Power Ring to advertise the upcioming Green Lantern movie? Really really impossible, or just a little bit impossible?

^ I'd agree with that, unless WB ordered it to tie in with Smallville and they somehow got Ryan Reynolds to agree to appear. I do remember him mentioning he was a Smallville fan, but that was years ago before he became a movie actor.

Surely he'd work for scale to advertise the movie, not that it would happen, but there's just something about the bloke that seems decent enough that he wouldn't mind taking one on the chin for the big picture.

I'm just wondering if Justin invited any of the SNL/arrested development people from Spring Breakdown to come vist the show, because it's not like Welling got Hillary Duff to show up as Supergirl in season 5 of Steve martin to play Zod in season 6...

Actors used to like working together beyond a paycheck from what I recall of the golden days of TV.

Tom probably won't do anything beyond Smallville...except maybe a Smallville movie if that is even in the cards or just still rumors. The producers I don't think discussed them at comic con or any point since.

Yeah, that whole 'Metropolis' rumor for Christmas of 2010 seemed to have evaporated completely - which I suppose means there was never any substance to it to begin with.

Some new information that I just read on the Smallville Wiki:

- Lois & Clark will join a morning show called Good Morning Metropolis (well that's real original) midseason.

^ Kryptonsite was mentioning something about this. Shades of Clark-as-a-TV reporter from the 70s and early 80s?

And here's the premiere's official description:

BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN (“TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES”) GUEST STARS AS JOHN CORBEN — Clark (Tom Welling) tells Jor-El he’s ready to start his training, but Jor-El sends him back to Metropolis to cut ties with Lois before he can begin. Chloe (Allison Mack) is shocked when Lois (Erica Durance) suddenly reappears after having been missing for weeks, but Lois has no recollection of vanishing into thin air with the Legion ring. While investigating a monorail crash, Lois meets John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green), a new reporter at The Daily Planet, with a negative attitude toward the Red-Blue Blur. Chloe begs Clark to use the Legion ring to go back in time to save Jimmy, but he refuses, driving a wedge into their friendship. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) continues down a dark road, and Zod (Callum Blue) arrives at the Luthor mansion... Posted on KryptonSite. Kevin Fair directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders (#3X5251).
I never actually thought about the Legion ring coming back into play.

generally for Superman I would say a TV career is a bad move, as its only a matter of time before someone notices that his face looks alot like Superman, there is alot less risk of that in the newspaper office, even if someone like Jimmy who might spend half his day taking photos of Superman, and the other half with Clark, you would think he would notice.

still the red/blue blur is just that a blur so its not a problem for this Clark Kent.

I'm thinking that we will get an explanation of where Lois went and why she conveniently can't remember anything later in the season. I'm guessing she was found by the Legion and sent back before Lois could alter the timeline or discover anything about Clark. The TV gig thing seems interesting, I couldn't help but think about Danny Tanner from Full House and Wake Up! San Francisco! I would have rather them call the show Wake Up! Metropolis With Lois and Clark! Haha.

I wonder if they're going to explain Jor-El's sudden appearence since he wasn't talking to Clark for several weeks at the latter part of last season, basically after Brainiac had corrupted the Fortress. I'm guessing that he's just going to start talking and we're not going to get an explaination. I wonder how many episodes we're going to get of Dark Clark before he starts to re-accept himself as a human being again.

Hmm?

If she has a love affair with Mon-El in the future, then his younger selfs prephantom zone exile adventures might stir some memories in Lois?

^ Yes. The size and it's location on Supes' chest was reminiscent of his first appearance.

I'm referring to the actual design.

I'm no superman logo enthusiast but I thought they switched over to the "Superman Returns" logo around season 6 when Clark was stuck in the phantom zone.

Seeing the image of Routh after 3 years makes me kinda of sad he hasn't shot to stardom. He's an Iowa native like me and I got to speak with his cousin who saw my Clark Kent profile image.
