@O'dib so that was you...forgive me for not remember your name then I really wanted to react to your post but for whatever reason have been delayed until my rant above it's been a pet peeve of mine for some time now too.

@Jetfire yes yes this is what I expected would happen to Lois as well and that she would come back as she did without remembering what she saw and throughout the course of the first half of the season she'd get flashes and that we would learn that she did indeed go to the 31st century and learn about Superman but also discover Clark secret and then we get a flash of a green alien wearing a trench coat with a smug look on his face saying "I apologize Ms. Lane but you are not meant to know any of this yet." and wipes her memory.

I had hoped SMALLVILLE would be more Legion Of Superheroes and less JLA...my hopes and dreams have been crushed.

I still maintain that a live action Legion of Superhero show while extremely expensive (I think they could do it like Battlestar Galactica or Caprica) and I'd call it simply "Legion" and the pilot would feature the three founding Legionaries coming together and founding the Legion and the first season would feature them recruiting new members. The Big Bad of the series would be various members of the Fatal Five Hundred encountering the Legion and being defeated then being recruited into the Fatal Five Hundred.

^
That would be cool. :)

I am still wondering what kind of plot could S10 have pushing Clark to become "Superman" Just trying to stop Darkseid or another big bad wouldn't be enough and it is what he has been doing all along...some have hinted SMALLVILLE moving into a CRISIS arc...but I think that is too complicated for the show to pull off.

Though it has an annoying continuity error - this show's Lois wasn't interested in journalism at all until Chloe turned her on to it.

As several of you have pointed out, that bugged me as well. When she said that it was like WTF? I kept thinking that Peterson and Souders were hoping that we all had forgotten she had no interest in writing or journalism when we first met her.

^

I think you're most likely right about that. If they force a cheap and meaningless death on the Chlovage, then we'll know they don't care.

^
I don't trust them to do Chloe right...last season proved that...I am hoping AM signs and the character evolves out of the mess the writers created the past 2 seasons...I want to see her get back to where she was in season 5 & 6...most of 7. I fear the worse for our Miss Sullivan. :(

Unless they kill of Lois and Chloe actually becomes the Lois Lane of Superman lore.

^

I have a feeling that they're going to attempt shoehorn her death into the Legion's version of history that is to say there was no record of Chloe, even though she played such an important role in Clark's pre-Superman life.

^
A real tragedy if they do that.

[edit] I want to see something proper not a slap in the face...have a feeling if she dies in the finale and doesn't sign...that is what we'll get.

If Chloe is indeed going to die next week and Allison is being written out of the show then this season's events surrounding her character seem to be the way to do it. In the scene in Watchtower where she tells Clark that she wants to reengage in the real world and that she finally has everything that she wanted (I assume she means after Jimmy died...I'm puzzled why the writers haven't mentioned Jimmy at all this season since basically this is what triggered her current funk and mistrust and distancing of Clark) I heard the red alert klaxon in my head after that statement. Usually when characters say stuff like that it's a tip off that something nasty is going to happen to them. I'd like to see Chloe go out with a bang and I don't necessarily think that they would use the Legion's line to make it all fit indeed I think that was just a Geoff Johns injoke indicating Chloe's non presence in the DCU at the time however in Superman Secret Identity Pete Ross has the initials of someone named C.S. and I believe Geoff confirmed that was Chloe. Anyways I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens to the Chlovage next week and ultimately what Aly does over the hiatus.

There's the Miller/Gough era and then post Miller/Gough, and one of those frustrating grey continuity things, some things count (Jonathon Kent is still dead) but other things don't, like Lois and journalism, and Chloe's characterization. Just have to take it as it comes...

No idea if the writer's have a plan or if they care, but one way take care of the Legion's lack of knowledge of Chloe, she is a computer hacker wiz, she can erase her identity from all world records and create a new persona for herself. She could then actually become just about any character in the DC universe (well, female, non-powered, short and cute).

^ This is my thought on how they have no records and also a point I was trying to make to Jetfire in the Mack Is Back? thread. If Chloe is going to die then the Sounders/Peterson era has done a good job over the past couple season to weave the web of her demise so that no one will know she ever existed except for our characters. I made the point after last week's episode that since all the Watchtower data with her life's work had been damaged one could speculate it meant her identity as well. Imagine you've spent most of your adult life in shadow working to create one of the world's greatest databases as well as being the premier information broker to a group of proto-superheroes. What if though you had managed to contain your own identity and what not within those files and then you died through some nefarious means? There'd be nothing left to admit that you were even there in the first place. My point is that perhaps IF Chloe dies perhaps she has a program in the Watchtower database that is programmed to execute a delete of her idenity in order to project Clark and the others??? Thus the reason the Legion doesn't have a record of her in the future?

It makes sense...still a bummer. :( I guess we will have to wait and see how the finale plays out...there is a death & 4 big cliff hangers...God only knows how this is going to really turn out.

Is it me, or did Perry White seem like a complete afterthought in this episode?

Also something has been nagging me for a long while that I'm going to take the moment to address and I forgot who first brought up a couple weeks ago but the language and dialogue that Smallville uses...sometimes it just gets to be too much with the witty rapid fire banter of Gilmore Girls...ie to the writers, this is not Gilmore Girls, yes we realize that was once really popular quirky show on the CW network but Lois Lane and Chloe Sullivan (the two characters who use this the most aside from Ollie who seems to be the only male character who delivers dialogue like this) are not Lauralai and Rory Gilmore!!!! People do NOT talk like this every day...at least no one in my circle of friends do, I have a healthy dose of wittisms and what not but don't use them every second word. Okay END OF NEWEST ADMIRAL YOUNG RANT. Continue with regular comments. :)

I dunno. The show has been like that since the first episode, in the form of Chloe. When Lois was introduced, she was somewhat like that, but in the past two seasons or so, her "wittisms" have increased. I suppose it is balancing out the fact that Chloe hardly does any "wittisms" as she once did. Then again, Alison Mack is basically playing a completely different character now who happens to be named Chloe.

Yep Chloe is a shadow of her old self but that comes with the territory that she's been playing in since she decided to take the job as Watchtower. Again consequences of her actions that have been mentioned by Peterson at various times in the last month or so.

She gave up being Watch Tower for about 12 seconds.

Pull the other one Chloe.

I thought her coldfeet and reservation was bollocks if it could be swayed by such an insipid, rudimentary and paltry inspirational speech. Are we supposed to believe that the last years worth of trouble in the girl is all neatly tied off into a bow because Clark said three sentences of utter gobshite and pep?

This pint sized hacker is either still broken and in denial or she was faking out Clark to make him feel like he was the hero who saved her the same as any alcoholic trying to create a safe area to drink in pretending to be cured to those who claim to care renting folding deckchairs for an intervention. Accordingly, it's also her job to make him believe he isn't an ass hat and she does it very well, I mean if he can fix up the deep rooted mental problems of a little blonde girl, then of course he can save the world.

- Nice seeing Martha and especially Perry again.

- Annette O'Toole looked great. When she joined the show, she looked like a young-ish mom, not like the Ma Kent we're familar with. And now with the grey, she not only looks distinguished, she's actually starting to look like "Ma Kent". How about that. :techman:

- Although it was nice seeing Perry, I wish they had done something to advance him into his role as Editor in Chief. And like a lot of you, I'm still hoping for a recurring role next year.

- Looked like they were setting up O'Toole/Red Queen in a recurring role too, but the way it ended, I dunno. Maybe we won't see her again.

- I wonder what they're going to do about the "Z" burned into Ollie's chest. He's required to walk around with his shirt off and he can't do that with a big scar there.

If season ten is indeed the finale season...
I hope it is.

...and I pray to the all mighty...
I'm praying too that next season is the last.

...Rao that it will be then it would be logical for them to finally stop all this "let's tease the fans" crap they've been doing for the last several years and get to the nitty gritty with the series finale introducing Clark as finally Superman.
Oh that. Hopefully they will give us Superman at the end.

What they can't do though is give us the character as an integral part of the season since there's a Superman movie in the works.

Did Perry just steal Lois's phone?
Looks like it. What was up with that? It also looked like he turned it into a little book. :wtf:

Okay, the Superman geek in me is cuming a little bit right now.
Hope he's wearing protection.

Anyone else not really interested in that last scene with Tess, it went to commercial and i thought to myself, i don't really care, all of that which just happened means nothing to me
I liked seeing her saddened that Ollie didn't trust her anymore. It was like it finally hit home that she's a bad person.

That bitch takes more bumps than a WWE wrestler.
Thought you said "dumps" at first. Don't know if Tess is into that sort of thing.

That was a nice little anecdote about Martha and Jon.

Kinda makes you remember what SV used to be like.
Didn't look like Jonathan at the door to me.

The Red Queen and Martha Kent wears red a lot and she has red hair. GET IT?!
Yeah. Not subtle enough.

Considering she's almost 60 years old Anette O'Toole has a dead pussy too. :(

She just needs a good O'Toole.
Oh, good one. Couldn't think of a good response. Not that I can or do usually, but... you know what I mean. :o

Oh, and I didn't know that Annette O'Toole was almost 60. 60 really isn't what it used to be.

Maybe Teschmacher can loan the good senator her vibrator.
Tess and a vibrator. Sweet dreams for me tonight.

the blonde girl in the stride commercial was cute
Don't know what you're referring to, but this one does it for me...

Tess becomes two-face next week
That was her?

Wow, The Red Queen must have mystical powers to do a quick dissappearance on Tess like that...

Martha's hot gams...Where is The Dagman?

;)
Leg double.

Retcon, all of a sudden Lois Lane, who had no interest in being a writer before she came to Smallville took journalism in high school.
This is something I have to clear up. There was no retcon. The thought occured to me too, but all the line means is that she took a journalism course in high school. Doesn't mean she had a significant interest in it back then. Now the course she took is significant because she's an actual journalist now. That's all.

The watchtower stuff is what I am referring to. When did Chloe go from being a plucky sidekick who would do anything to get some kind of story longing for the day that she can work at the Daily Planet to some sort of deep cover techno-wiz who can solve all the world's computer problems, despite not showing this ability in any way, shape, or form whatsoever earlier?
