SMALLVILLE Episode #9-21: "Hostage" May 7, 2010

The CW's Official Description: IT'S THE RETURN OF MARTHA KENT AND PERRY WHITE - Much to Clark's (Tom Welling) surprise, Martha Kent (guest star Annette O'Toole) returns to Smallville with her new boyfriend, Perry White (guest star Michael McKean) in tow. Lois (Erica Durance) and Perry realize they are both working on the same story about the Red Queen, and decide to team up, which ultimately puts them in serious danger. Chloe (Allison Mack) helps Clark search for the Book of Rao, which they believe contains information on how to stop Zod (Callum Blue) and his army. Posted on KryptonSite. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Jordan Hawley & Anne Cofell Saunders (3X5271).

Looks good! :bolian:

OMG that was an epic looking trailer and seeing the HOUSE OF EL crest in Clark's eyes was awesome!! I'll be at work tonight but will catch it when I come back!!! Have fun with the live commentary guys.

I got way to excited when I saw that.

PLEASE!

If season 10 is the last season please let all 22 episodes be epic.

No time to play. Get down to business. Make every episode like you're going to be canceled in a second.

With that said, it seems like the crest is like Superman Returns but obviously brighter.

^
Season 10 should be better than all the previous 9 combined...but I won't get my hopes up.

^
With any hope Jor El will smack some sense into him and he'll become Superman...during the hiatus.

"My son... Haven't you read the comics and watched the movies in the Kryptonian library here in the Fortress? Put on the damn suit and fly, Kal-El!"

"Martha, Martha, Martha!"

I hope she comes back and bludgeons Clark's face with a Kryptonite rock.

Tonight is also the premeire of FNL. I'm going to watching Smallville though. It's wrong of me to watch SV instead of a great show like Friday Night Lights but I intend to tape FNL (yes, tape. I need to get a DVR) and watching SV since SV is so close to the season finale.

Actually, you know what my prediction is? Both Martha and Perry will be able to fly and Clark still won't be able to.

Going to see Iron Man 2 after SV!

If season ten is indeed the finale season and I pray to the all mighty Rao that it will be then it would be logical for them to finally stop all this "let's tease the fans" crap they've been doing for the last several years and get to the nitty gritty with the series finale introducing Clark as finally Superman. If he doesn't FLY tonight he'd better damn well fly next season at some point. It'd be hilarious if they decided to do a clone story arc and have the clone Clark FLY but not Clark...oh wait they kind of did that with the Phantom Zone version of Bizarro didn't they? LOL

This will be the first SV i've watched since Absolute Justice. I know i'm kinda behind. Can anyone do a quick recap of what's gone down since then?

The best I can do is give you a link to the Smallville wiki and then just go to their season nine page and it will give you an overview or you can read their episode synopsis.

thanks admiral Young. I'll read up on it right now. I started losing interest in SV after the last long break. Same thing happened to me last year, although I eventually watched the rest of season 8 on dvd.

Clark needs to be smacked with The Book Of Rao and mybe then he will fly.

Or he just needs to let go of all of his self-doubt and second guessing and start trusting himself and he'll start to fly. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the in show reason why he's not been able to fly...as we know the producers have stated that this entire season has been Clark's "darkest hour" (as well as most of the fans) and that the season finale will be his redemption. So maybe all the burden is lifted off of his shoulders for next season. I doubt it though, especially since someone is going to die.
