I was more interested in the promos for Absolute Justice than in this episode...then they showed Legion after Disciple and I was into that, even though I have seen it like 4 times already.
I really hope for more L* episodes later this season or in 10.

Meh.

Clark is so freaking stupid. He knows Zod's nature from dealing with his older original self a few years back. He also knows what this version is up to, yet he just allows him to continue on with his plans unimpeded even after they met? Did he learn nothing from dealing with Lex for all those years? Tell them what they want to hear, make them take you into their confidence, Kryptonians one and all, then cart them up to the Fortress and put them all on ice. No fuss, no muss.

Either Clark is defiantly stupid, or the writers of this show are. All in all, an average Smallville outing when I was hoping for a whole lot more. Oh well, not every show can be as cool as Chuck.

I agree with everything you've said. Except that part about Chuck...I dunno why people like that show. Anyways. Following up on the main point of your post. This whole Schlark allowing Zod to hang around knowing full well who and what he is is so stupid its actually insulting. Like Dagman is saying either the character Schlark is stupid or the writers are. Or Both. Im inclined to believe its both.
Add to that the open contempt Zod cant help but show towards Schlark is either over the top campy acting or just totally stupid directing and writing. But yet Schlark cant see that he's basically threatening him at every turn....but yet he lets it go on....
DUMB!!!

I had higher hopes for this episode but I thought it was just boring. Was Bacic's character supposed to be Merlyn? Anyway, didn't care for Bacic's performance though he had a great look. It seemed uninspired, and they had Ollie spending too much time with his brow furrowed instead of acting on the threat. He should've been hunting Dark Archer like he was being hunted.

And I still don't care for Major Zod. I just think that the actor over pronunicates everything and it annoys the hell out of me. Plus, they always have this music swelling at the closing scenes with him like he's a real bad dude, and he just doesn't come off that way. The scene with Lois was lame. I'm surprised that she didn't pepper Zod with more questions and likewise Clark about their friendship/relationship, whatever. Also why doesn't Clark move more proactively to stop Zod now? As others have posted, Clark has good enough evidence that Zod is not a good guy. And the creeping around Lois thing doesn't help his case either. I just didn't believe Clark's threat about destroying Zod if he comes around Lois again. The first time should've been enough.

Mia is a speedster right? Why didn't she just dash out of the frigging maze? Oh Lois should techincally somewhat remember her dream of being in the future with Zod as a tyrant right? The whole Dark Archer thing came off pretty lame, next week looks phenomnal though

and Chuck, while it has some flaws, is a good show, who would have thought it would have turned out better than Heroes in the long run?

Nah her nickname in the comics (Well the nickname of Green Arrows sidekick) is Speedy, but neither the first Speedy(Roy Harper) or the second(Mia) possessed any super powers. It's just an alias/nickname, not an indicator of any powers.

They were just trained to be very good archers like Oliver and eventually learned other forms of martials arts/hand to hand combat type things as well

I'll give this a Below Average. It was boring for the most part but I will give them credit for avoiding the obvious Clark goes after Oliver/Oliver uses Kryptonite scene.

Pretty boring. The episode moved at a snail's pace. The teaser seemed like it was ripped right out of an episode of L&C. And I have to say: I care even less of Major Zod than I did for Davis Snooze. I was starting to expect some Muh-wah-ha-haing.

This has become a show about Oliver, with Clark popping in for an occasional Deus Ex Machina save. What's sad, I'm liking diet Clark. Ollie rocks!

I still find this version of Zod to be a dud.

I keep seeing a deranged version of Doctor Who when Callum delivers his lines. Maybe it's just me.

He might make an OK version of the Master but he just doesn't seem like "General Zod" to me.

I realize the CW is aiming at a certain demographic with this series, but would it have made more sense for them to cast an actor around the same age as Julian Sands' Jor-El? He and Zod were supposed to be contemporaries, right? Or is there some wibbly-wobbly time-frak explanation about how Zod is now a contemporary of Clark instead?

If I recall correctly it was implied that Jor-El added his DNA template to the Orb sometime after he added Zod's to it.

No, you don't recall correctly.

Both Jor-El's and Zod's DNA were added at roughly the same time. After Jor-El went on trial for stopping the experiment, the Council decreed that he must finish the project and include both his and Zod's genetic material for it as well. They were both in Jor-El's lab as he was finishing the Orb when Jor-El stated that all that was left was for their samples to be included and Zod pleaded to have Jor-El also include the genetic matter of Zod's son as well. Jor-El declined and Zod ended their friendship as Jor-El was taking their samples in front of the Council's armed guards.

So the only time difference was with the time of the bulk of the samples were taken versus the time that Zod's and Jor-El's were done. It was unclear as to the time that had passed, as there was a reference to the fight against Black Zero had been won and Zod had time to find that lock of hair from his son. It could have been days or weeks, and likely no more than a month. But it certainly was not the years needed to fit your "explanation".

Jor-El was simply older than Zod by around fifteen years or so. (although the actual actors are likely even further apart) Jor just obviously did not start his family until much later in life than Zod did. You don't have to be the same age to be friends with someone.

Clark is a moron. I mean he should know by now that if he prances around preaching all that, "I must be the good guy and not do anything until the person really does something to torque me off." is lame.

Look at Davis. He could have saved everybody heartache if he had gotten rid of him sooner.

Now he darn well knows Zod and his minions are up to no good, but he is back on his moral high ground. Well sometimes you gotta get just as dirty as the bad guy in order to do the most good. He has the power, he should get rid of Zod and his army, but we all know that Zod will eventually get Clarks power and Clark will lose his and end up getting his butt whooped and humanity will suffer because he is too weak to stand up to the guy now.

If I was Clark I would just throw them into outer space and be done with it.

Agreed. If he can't bring himself to kill Zod, then tell all his buddies to come to the Fortress and lock them into the Phantom Zone.

He can't lock em in the PZ, Tess saw to that last season when she destroyed Brainiac's PZ crystal (I suppose he could just ask Jor-El, who's mysterious reappearance between seasons the writers are happy to forget about).

I agree that the Zod story arc is turning into a big old dud. I was very underwhelmed with where it ended up in Pandora. I actually found it hard to care enough to stick this episode on. Hopefully AJ next week will cure me of this funk.
