They aren't really going to go with Dick Grayson over the Green Arrow, are they? Justin Hartley at least has some sort of established fanbase. What is the matter with them? I can just imagine what kind of pretty boy with a waxed chest they'll cast as Dick.

Darth Pipes, when am I ever going to lure you to the Supernatural side of the force? taps foot impatiently You would eat it up with a spoon it's so good this season. Old testament angels and Lucifer trying to get out. Not a cute, pop culture quippy version of the apocalypse like they had every week on Buffy  Really nasty, burn out your eyes stuff. It's great.

I voted average again as I did with last week's episode. It was okay, the flash back scenes showing Ollie's training were neat--a Prince of Theives style especially with the last arrow piercing the first bullseye. I guess Ollie confirms it for us that Tess is suppossed to be Mercy with a bit of Miss Tessmacher thrown in. I wonder if her powers are just superstrength, speed, and agility like Amazonians possess? It would be cool if this led to a Wonder Woman appearence...but I've given up on that. Tom Welling really doesn't want to wear a suit jacket or glasses huh? Not that there is a reason for it yet...and I can't wait for Davis to go Doomsday on Clark's ass! Also I loved the Chlovage as well...

I liked it how Clark was jealous that she could read faster than him.

If he didn't need to move his lips then maybe she wouldn't leave him for dust?

Unless they plan to cast Hartley as Dick...

I was gonna vote 'Below Average' (surprised? :p) but I think I'll cave and go with 'Good'. It was a weak episode. I didn't like the focus on Ollie and I'm still mad that Bruce Wayne isn't on the show. It did partially redeem itself toward the end though when Ollie confronted Clark and told him that he's filled with fear and mistrust. I wonder what his "island" is. Doomsday perhaps? What else... The shores of B.C. don't make for a good tropical island no matter how many plants you bring in. And yes, "NOMERCY" on the plate was a nice touch. I wouldn't mind it if she showed me no mercy. That's my bit of humor fot the evening, and it's funny because it's true.

Anyway...

So Ollie bagged Lois and Tess. Lucky bastard.
He and Lois only played nurse, not doctor. Too bad.

I swear, in movies and TV a damp cloth to the forehead could cure cancer.

Yeah, a lot of "Mercy" references. That and he said "Mercy" a lot. I think. Maybe it was once and I'm just thinking it was a lot.

(One of) Green Arrow's origins is that he gets drunk falls off a boat and end up living on an island for a couple months hunting game with a bow to eat. Variations on a theme depending on who's rewriting the origin in which decade.

I like the 80s version where Pot heads with no skillz whatsoever turn up to harvest their pot compared to the recent (although excellently written) heroin plantation human trafficking Asian Warlords making his bowstring from the tendons of some animal he murdered and all out complete war as he's plucking huey gunships out of the air with his jungle fashioned arrows.

Of course TPTB of Smallville are doing it. The current producers are very much
disciples of Gough and Millar. They do not like Super Heroics. Or are only willing to them in small doses. Beyond doing Green Arrow the other obvious choice of a Dick Grayson series (played by a 20 something actor) without Batman would be....

NIGHTWING!

Average. It just seemed like a "filler" episode. Supposedly Queen was on the island for two years, yet had short hair and a short beard? C'mon! I'm hoping the season starts to pick up because so far it sucks.

The character of Nightwing falls under the Batembargo.

Yeah, what did they call that obviously Nightwing Character on Birds of prey? Blowback? Strikeback? Something ridiculous.

Those stupid embargoes have got to end.

WB is doing itself more harm than good with them. It's too bad they don't understand that.

Do you think the WB actually approved Family Guys use of Superman?

"Superman! What are you doing in hell?"

"I killed a hooker. She made a crack about me being faster than a speeding bullet so I ripped her in half like a phone book."

Although I have no idea how/why they let the batmobile appearon the Drew Carey Show.

"There's a morals clause to owning the Batmobile? For gods sake he kept a boy in a cave!"

There's so much they can't control, it's a wonder that they're such bastards inside the boarders of their own authority.

^ Actually Seth McFarlane says on one of the DVD commentaries that they forward the clips to the various copyright holders before they air them for approval.
