Clark is a bitch.

A while back they split the whole JLA into two people each. And when it got down to it with the Batman and Bruce Wayne... Sure he couldn't scale up the side of a building anymore or kungfu the shit out of anyone, it was still young Bruce's rage and guilt at the heart of the matter pushing him to punish the criminal element.

Strip Davis of his powers and he might still think it's a good idea to kill Clark, becuase it is a good idea. The guy is a deush.

I was surprised (and impressed) that Welling was in so many scenes, since he was also directing. Clark has been reduced in screen time somewhat the last few episodes, so I figured he'd be in even less, but nope!

Welling did a nice job. The performances seemed somewhat less standard and a little deeper. (Of course there was much more story going on as well).

I love how all the people who have been telling Clark to "stand up" are looking more and more like selfish and unrealistic idiots as the season progresses. (Oliver and Tess especially look more and more shallow about it.)

Clark has his own timetable and instead of looking like he's reticent (as some have claimed), he looks more and more like he has a long-range plan. And his arguments are finally getting through to his would-be cheerleaders.

Good episode as the set-up for the season finale.

And he actually sounded like fucking Superman!

I thought this was one of the better episodes of the season.

Next week looks to be good.

in the preview for next week, i saw a giant Z on the ground, could Zod be making a come back? and we also see Rokk come back I now wonder if they have something to do with enlisting Tess to get Clark to become that hero.

Clark loses powers = Automatic BIZARRO.

Too much of the god awful Tess and the usual garbage we get when the writers can't come up with a good reason why Clark doesn't just put a stop to whatever the villains are up to.

Clark is not a meteor freak, Parasite's powers shouldn't have worked. Clark's powers are a natural function of being an Kryptonian living on a planet with a yellow sun.

Plus, I'm sure that bloody ring is going to come back the next time Oliver disagrees with Clark.

Please stop this crap, it ruined what could have been a good episode.

Agreed. In his own nobel and polite way, he's beginning to tell others to stay the hell out of his destiny and moral code.

And in a recent episode did he actually say he had to get back to the farm to feed Shelby? I notice we haven't seen many chickens or other small livestock at the Kent farm recently. Maybe Shelby's been feeding himself.

In the comics Parasite has absorbed Clark's powers though.

Temporarily. That's not how it was presented here.

Who cares? He got them back five minutes later anyway. It's not like he was de-powered for the entire episode.

One second is enough for a Bizarro from me. It's poor writing. If the only way you can make a show about a guy with superpowers work is to take them away, then you should get another job.

Do you give a bizarro to every episode with kryptonite?

If it's a poorly placed excuse to make an otherwise weak villain a threat then yes - like Kryptonite counterfeit money or evil jewelers who happen to be wearing Kryptonite watches. It's tired, lazy writing.

Really?

Kara comes back.

Jorel wipes her memories and powers again.

It's his thing.

She gets a job as a stripper.

Someone tucks a counterfeit Kryptonite 50 dollar bill under the strap of her g-string...

No wait?

No powers, no weakness.

Carry on.

This episode was probably pitched as a bookend to the episode "Justice" where the Justice league turned up, since the bad guys when they team up some times call themselves the InJustice League of America (Irony be damned it's run by a Gorilla who eats people half the time.), but half the team is wiped out off camera and the rest as well as the show went by without ever coming to heads with Olivers lot in some Super battle Royal.

Not that the budget could stomach that many "gueststars".

Is the little bugger who played Impulse ever coming back?

He was fun.

Since when did Clark get a batmobile?
Yeah, what was that KITT scene all about?

Still, it would be very cool if Clark did die fighting Doomsday next week. It's obvious he'd be resurrected in the first 10 minutes of 9x01, but it would make one hell of a S8 finale.
Totally agree. Now who would be cradling his beaten corpse after the battle? Chloe or Lois?

Well for my money, it should be Chloe, but if they really are trying to copy the DC Doomsday story, then I suppose it'll be Lois.

I was finally able to watch the ep this evening, and after watching it I wonder if I shouldn't have just stayed home and watched it live and passed on a second viewing of Star Trek. I really liked this ep, more than I thought I would. The whole thing with Chloe not being Chloe caught me a bit by surprise, even though she wasn't really acting quite like herself. I guess she's still being Davis' love-slave, wherever they are.

The ending with Tess and the glowing voice was a bit of a surprise as well; I can't help but wonder if that scene was written in once the showrunners knew that Season 9 was a go. I also can't help but wonder if this is a setup for Kara's eventual return.

Yeah, because that never happens in the comics.
