You're probably right, but I was thinking back to when White told Clark to look him up if he ever needed a favor (or something like that).
I think, personally, Perry is still a general reporter for the Planet and not yet a person of power. Lionel did a real number on him.
Sigh...hate having to wait another three hours to see this. Hey now don't encourage them to steal my idea yet again NX...the new title of the series should be Beyond Smallville: Metropolis! Actually as I stated during the discussion in the summer thread I think that Tess is a cross between Mercy, Tessmacher, and the Contessa from the comcis but that would be giving the writers too much credit for actually doing research into the comics.
They probably worry people might think its a new show, so it stays "Smallville". Someone else probably has a better way of explaining it
Clark's nickname -from Lois- is "Smallville."
The show is about Clark.
The teaser scene with Clark changing in the phone-booth and rushing to save the bus was awesome, BTW. I had a geek-gasm.
There's also a "Visual Displacement Field" between Smallville and Metropolis, making it possible to see Metropolis from tall structures in Smallville, despite the hundreds of miles difference.
Quick. Someone call Cameron or Cromartie to measure the distance and the rate of contraction before Smallville is a Metropolis suburb or the Talon and the Daily Planet are neighbors.

That makes sense. Even if Michael Mckean is unavailable they could make references to him. Seeing his name in a byline would be nice. Prop front pages usually have filler articles beyond whatever the script demands. It would be a perfect place to see Perry's name.
