Five-Minute "Apocalypse"
Chloe: So... going to Krypton? Going to stop yourself from not existing?
Clark: NO! I wish I were never born!
Clarence: Hooray! Maybe now I can get my wings!
Chloe: Your octagon's name is Clarence?
Clark: Huh? Where am I?
The other Clark Kent: In my barn! Go away or I'll call my dad!
Clark: GASP! Dad's alive? Let me see him!
The other Clark Kent: Okay, fine. He isn't actually here. Budget reasons. I'm sure you understand.
Clark: Chloe! You're alive!
Chloe: And you are?
Clark: Clark! Clark Kent! I'm your density.... I mean --
Chloe: No, I remember Clark Kent. He was in that last scene. Why did you give me a name I would probably know?
Clark: Jimmy! You're alive!
Jimmy: And you are?
Clark: Your biggest fan! I want to join the Jimmy Olsen Fan Club!
Jimmy: Really? Well, I, I'm flattered.
Clark: Also I need you to do my bidding.
Lois: Hey! Jimmy! Stop doing that guy's bidding and do mine! I've got another Pulitzer to win!
Clark: So, Pa Kent's alive. Chloe's engaged. Chloe's dad's alive. Lana's happily married. Jimmy's more like Jimmy Olsen then ever before. Lois is more like Lois than ever before. Lex is President. -- How is it that this world is more like Superman when the whole point of it is I'm not here?!
Lois: From what you just said, it sounds like there's no reason for you to be born. Nothing bad is happening.
Kara: Let's change that, shall we?
Lois: Help! Help! Somebody saaaaaaave me!
(SUPER-SAAAAVE!)
Lois: Oh thank you! We have to stop President Lex! He's MAD!
Clark: Really? He's insane?
Lois: Oh, I meant MAD: Mutually Assured Destruction, but you have to be kinda insane to do that in the first place.
Clark: Here's some trailer fodder. I will sneak into this press conference wearing a suit and these thick-rimmed glasses. Okay, glasses off.
Audience: Awww!
Kara: Lex, I'm worried about Fine. I think he's evil.
Lex: Oh, don't worry about that. I was already evil anyway.
Clark: Kara, Brainiac is Fine!
Kara: Hey. I only just met you. Don't really care which way you swing.
Clark: NO! I mean, Fine is Brainiac!
Kara: Oh. ... OH!
Kara: So anyway, Lex, Fine is really evil.
Lex: So am I!
(BANG! BANG!)
Clark: GAK! Kryptonite bullets! How come I couldn't dodge them?
(BANG!)
Kara: GAK! Kryptonite bullets! How come I couldn't dodge them when I already knew what they were?!
Fine: Here are the nukes, Mr. President. Mwahahaha!
Lex: Mwahahaha!
Clark: No! Lex! Fine is a Cylon!
(BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM!)
Jor-El: And that's what would happen if you don't go back and stop Brainiac from killing you.
Clark: I am so not Fine with that.
Fine: Mwahahaha! I will kill the baby!
(PUNCH!)
Fine: And you, Kara!
(PUNCH!)
Fine: And you, Kal-El!
Clark: Ha! You already said you were going to kill the baby!
Kara: Clark! I'll take care of Fine! Save yourself!
Clark: Okay!
(Runs away!)
Kara: Not what I meant!
Clark: So even though Fine's dead, Lana's still unconscious. That sucks.
Kara: Meh. We can just go back in time over and over again until we get it right.
Clark: No thanks. I'd rather strangle myself with an umbilical cord.
Clark: Lex? What are you doing in my barn? You can't just barge in here like you own the place!
Lex: ... Am I the only one who sees the incredible irony here?
Kara: Hack! GAK!
(Kara coughs up a furball at Ludicrous Speed)

Kinda crazy the fortress makes time travel so easy. Why didn't supes just use that feature instead of flying around the Earth real fast in the movies, heh. 
I'm surprised Clark didn't at least want to TRY and save Krypton. They could have made this a 3 parter, and have clark go back in time and meet his parents, try to save Krypton, but ultimately fail of course. We'd see a lot more of Krypton that way, and maybe Clark would finally get answers from his Dad about what his destiny is, what a neat opportunity it could have been. Oh well.

Spoilers possibly. I read Kara is really Brainiac and the REAL Kara is in the Phantom Zone. I realized we never actually "saw" Kara kill Brainiac so perhaps this is true.

Above average. There are still Superdickeries but Clark changed his mind in like ten seconds after arriving in the alternate reality. I like the huge nods to the Superman movies such as the suit, the glasses and middle finger (lol) and the planet Krypton near revealed behind the red sun.
Am I imagining things or was the "Apocalypse" scenes (missiles above the barn and the multiple nuclear hits) directly taken from Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines?

Yes, that was used in T3.
If memory serves, it is stock footage that Warner Bros. owns (which distributed T3).
I might check out some of Smallville's earlier seasons but it sounds like show jumped the shark a long time ago
