Just finished watching it. I gave this one an excellent!

Awesome episode, definitely my favorite of the series. When done right, Alt Universe stories tend to be awesome.

Welling seemed to handle Evil Clark well. Regular Clark was being a douche again when he said that Luthor's are born bad. You didn't exactly help Lex you know. They didn't explain how Lionel had the control over him though my guess it had something to do with that object they were looking for in Season 7 that could control Clark.

Alt Universe Tess was a lot of sexy fun and it was great seeing her get to interact with Lionel. Though I have no clue why she didn't attempt to get some kryptonite immediately after getting out of Alt Clark's presence. Am I the only one who thought she and Clark had some great chemistry tonight?

Lionel returns and his appearnce (and villianly) was most welcome tonight. Absolutely loved his well-deserved beatdown of Clark. Although I saw him running towards Clark at the end, his crossing over was a surprise and a pleasant one at that. Here's hoping he pops up again.

Only thing missing during his beatdown was him telling Clark...

"You..."

WHACK!

"fucking..."

WHACK!

"DOUCHE!"

Nice bit of meta-humor with Lois telling Clark she didn't know how couldn't tell him how many times she's filled out a hospital form.

WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!

Lois annoyed me in this one (especially the sappy Clark interaction) but I really did like Alt Lois. She was a much more subdued character and that did wonders for Smallville Lois.

John Glover was in Batman and Robin?

I'm just glad that when he took his belt off, his next words weren't...

"I'll show you what incest really is, Clark."

Well it was better than I expected and I was looking forward to it.

It was also a nice payoff to the horrible Veritas story in S7.

Agreed. I never wanted to hear the Veritas storyline brought up again but they used it well tonight.

It did tie in a little.

I heard someone note that Lionel's sword had blue kryptonite in it. But why would that stop Alt Clark from finding a way to kill him? I mean, wouldn't Lionel have to control him to ensure that Clark wouldn't kill him?

Gotta love Smallville. All the episodes you think are gonna be crap turn out good, and all the episodes you think are gonna be good turn out to be crap.

Doubt alt Clark wanted to KILL his "father", rather just get away from him, escape, or be the one in control, but maybe he had some glimmer of heart in the sense he couldn't kill his own "father" i.e. the guy who raised him.

Actually there isn't. As I said my friend informed me about the episode and that Lionel is in our universe now. Onwards to "Icarus" next week!!

Not a great episode, but the ending made it worth it. I didn't like that we didn't get to see more of Ultraman in our universe. I don't get how GA, Tess, and Lois were able to keep him couped up in Watchtower while our Clark was trying to get back home. Ultraman could've easily killed both women before Oliver even showed up.

I did like how Tess easily got into kissing Ultraman, a sign that she has some latent feelings for our Clark. I also liked the use of Ultraman and the return of Lionel. I had hoped that it would be a truly mirror universe where all the 'good' people are 'bad', but the only one that seemed truly changed was Clark. Even in our universe, Tess is a character in the middle and in the alternate universe, she was sort of in the middle too. I did like how it was done to reveal to Clark that Tess is a Luthor, without having to go into a long drawn out explanation.

So glad John Glover's back and he's back to the old Lionel from early Smallville. I wonder if they're going to make him Darkseid's vessel? I hope not. I would like for them to keep him around at the end of the series so that he can raise Lex and start the cycle over again, to some extent. But since he knows Clark's secret he probably won't last outside of the next episode he's in.

I'd have to hear it again to be sure, but I thought Lionel mentioned during his last rant being disappointed that Alt!Clark hadn't tried to kill him...

It was watchable.

As mentioned. Tess was her usual hot and sexy self, something that especially got to be played up with her alternate reality counterpart. It's that aggressiveness that makes her sexy.

It's interesting to me that in this parallel universe the boy found in the field is giving the name "Clark" by both Luthor and the Kents.
At first, I thought that he should have been named Lex, but Lex already exists. It would have been cool to see an alternate universe story where Superman is Lex Luthor.

Yeah, me too. I read one years ago where Martha and Thomas Wayne found young Kal-el and he became Bruce Wayne instead of Clark Kent.
Speeding Bullets. It's quite popular.

I was like "screw you. It doesn't always have to be about sex!"
But it helps.

I forgot the context of that line, but any mention of sex from Cassidy Freeman is good and that's all that matters. Right?

Short of Alicia Witt's strip tease, why is "Two and Half Men" funny or a popular sit-com at all?!
Alicia Witt's strip tease is more than enough.

Charlie Sheen has a point. It should be an olympic sport.

But... but... Kelly said it would be dark and epic and fun.
Two out of three ain't bad. I'll let you pick the two.

You just know Clark secretly relishes people messing up so he can rub their faces in it.

I've got a number of jokes now to make this quote dirty.
I thought it already was.

Wasn't that Ultramans symbol on his Tee?
Thought you said "tree".

I really hate the coloring/lighting in this episode. It makes me think my TV settings are off.
I didn't like it either. Too distracting and bland. It needed some color.

Man Ultraman constructed that fence pretty quickly! :)

Oh, that Ultraman. I was thinking Jerry O'Connell myself.

He has no goatee. Fail.
Hopefully Lois and Tess have goatees.

Tess looks hot in any universe
You have a point.

;)
I'm sure he's got something else.

...unless that was your "point".

I'd love to see the alt-verse Chlovage. Sadly, there probably won't even be a mention of her.
I thought she was supposed to be in this episode. Then it occured to me... If this is regular Chloe...

...can you imagine alternate universe Chloe?

Now you see why they couldn't show her.

So, did they say Gold-K caused the permanent scar on Alt-Clark's forearm?

My research tells me that, in the comics, Gold-K causes Superman to permanently lose his powers and has only been used once in the comics (obviously) and I believe even then in an alternate universe/one-off story.

I guess in Smallville it can cause more permanent damage to Clark.
Was it gold k that did it? I missed something obviously. I did wonder a bit about how he got that scar, but forgot about it soon after.

The Magnificent Bastard is looking good for his age and he still has that flair about him.
I just saw him a few nights ago in Scrooged. Young Glover looks quite different.

We could have had a league perhaps. A league of Justice.
A Justice League!

Lionel is the Walternate of the SV MU.
CSI: NCIS: SVMU: NY: LA

The Magnificent Bastard is back in the multichromatic universe!
And the guy at the newstand didn't recognize the return of one of the world's biggest billionaires. Good to have him back tho. Now bring on Rosenbaum and the duo will be complete.

Ok, on to Clone Wars.
It was onto Supernatural for me. One hour of hot sexy Tess, then Rachel Miner naked and strapped to a table. It was a good two hours.

The Magnificent Bastard is back in the multichromatic universe!
Do you think he notices the colors are brighter and everything is in hi-def?
mos def!

I heard someone note that Lionel's sword had blue kryptonite in it.
So that's what cut Clark. At first, I thought he didn't have powers in the alternate universe wit that blue sun rendering everything dull and lifeless.

I did like how Tess easily got into kissing Ultraman, a sign that she has some latent feelings for our Clark.
I don't know if it's latent feelings. Maybe she's just that kind of person... Part of her is playing along with whatever's going on and part of her just has that sexual side that comes out whenever it's provoked. And as Paris Hilton would say... That's hot.

two questions....
sense she claimed she's only doing just a few episodes.... shouldn't we be seeing chloe soon.... and

Lionel... could he just walk into the nearest bank.... proclaim himself found... and take over his corporation again? Yeah... I know having a dead lionel could complicate things.... but then I think lionel could take care of those complications....

Really not good at all.

Once again they seemed to have only filmed half the episode. Huge chunks of plot are just missing--they're not even just "holes" anymore. And the bit at the end was gimmicky even for Smallville.

It's a trend that's been pretty consistent all year. People keep saying how great season 10 has been thus far. I don't get it at all. It's like they're being so ambitious that they forgot to do any real writing. It's like someone saying he's going to design the next great building and makes a few scribbles and smudges on a napkin with a blue crayon and says "See?"

Milfred must be tearing their eyes out now. I don't think this has been one of the best seasons, I think it's one of the worst.

@Lt.Trull...Allison Mack is on a six episode contract this season with the bulk of her appearances being back loaded on purpose, I believe this was done on purpose to have Chloe incorporated into the final four episodes of the season. I believe that she will have her arc concluded along with Clark and the two will be inter connected together. Chloe is rumored to have a brief appearance in next week's episode.

As for Chloe not being in "Luthor" there could be two explanations for this in-universe. (a) Gabe and Chloe never moved to Smallville. (b) She was killed off by Lionel as being a possible threat to his adopted son. If I watched this episode I would have liked to have seen Chloe as the leader of the band of heroes against Ultraman. This is tempting me to rewrite this episode completely.

Oh... Wouldn't it be fantastic if Chloe was a Luthor too?

They'd have to start calling her 'Lo though.

Sisters bitching like cats over the same guy.

Oliver: "Sisters? This is what I get for spending all my spare time with a redneck."

Clark is the common denominator when it comes to characters like Chloe or Lana being involved with the Luthors...even if Gabe worked at Luthorcorp or Lana had a chance meeting through her aunt with U-Clark...they don't play a part in the bigger story like in our RW Smallville. Oliver fits because he went to the same boarding school as U-Clark and is the son of Billionaires and I am not sure how Lois got into journalism or whatever but that is pretty much irrelevant to the story they were trying to tell...some of the details fans care about...just don't matter in an ep like this.
