It still doesn't explain why his name is "Clark."

I suggested above it may have something to do with Lionel's creepy fascination with Martha (though who could blame him?) Or it could be, as I also suggested above, he took Clark from the Kents because in this universe Jonathon didn't take Lionel up on the shady offer to cover up Clark's "adoption" in exchange for Jonathon talking a neighboring farm into selling land to Luthorcorp. (Thus allowing Luthorcorp to begin it's stronghold on Smallvillie-ian interests.) It's possible that Cosmic Destiny plays a role and "somehow" Lionel also had a significant relative with the name "Clark" whom he wants to name the Kryptonian babe after.

Or, as Doc Brown once said, it could be an amazing coincidence. ;)

I mean, we could ask how Spark, Kirk, Uhura, etc. all had the same name, positions and careers in the MU when, by all logicality, if one thing is different enough int he MU to make humans an "evil" space empire (rather than a peaceful one) then many things could be different including the names of people ore even their very existence.

Here is an interview with Cassidy Freeman about "Luthor" & Tess; http://www.kryptonsite.com/cassidyfreeman-luthor.htm

Great read.

This was interesting...
Does this mean all this talk of "I loved you" talk back in Season 8 was just a sisterly love?

With Lex?

Yes.

Yeah. You know, it's funny. I've read some fan stuff of how they're like "Ewww! Brother and Sister!" But, you know, I never thought that my relationship with Lex was sexual. I always thought that was more of a mentor-mentee. That's why, in Season 8, I got so upset with Oliver when he insinuated that my relationship with Lex was a romantic one, because I was like "screw you. It doesn't always have to be about sex!"

Yeah she is one of the best things about Smallville...like in it's 10 year run. :)

Agreed. Despite all the things they've done with her character over the past two seasons her acting and composure on the series has made Tess work. I can't believe this thread is three pages long already and the episode hasn't even aired yet :)

The worst part of this episode will be that Ultra-Clark has been flying since he was five.

It just occurs to me that his has a twinge of "Mirror, Mirror" with Clark taking on Captain Kirk's role!!

Naw, Doucheman can't hold a candle to James T. Kirk!

But now that you've thrown the TOS thing out there, I have visions of Lion-El as a MU version of Khan!

Maybe it's because I'm more old school and read a lot of the silly Superman comics from the 50's and 60's but I could really give a shit that his name is still Clark in the alternate universe.

I'm looking forward to this one. I'm a sucker for alternate universe stories.
