Small Relief To Arrive from Winter Chill

I can't understand why Australians complain about the cold. I live in Tasmania and I don't consider our weather to be all that cold. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Hobart at sea level -2.9C and I think there are many places in the world where that would be considered balmy.

The last time it snowed heavier enough to settle at sea level in Tasmania was more than 20 years ago.

I don't have an electric blanket, I don't heat my bedroom and I usually sleep with only one doonah on the bed. I don't wear mittens or a scarf, though I do have a warm coat and will sometimes put on a woollen beanie.

Our temps have been fairly warm during the last couple of years in winter and l think it is the first time this year that we have had a descent rain and also more cold weather than what we have had
Maybe we are not used to it

I'm still not entirely convinced this 'snow' business actually exists.

Okay, okay, you're right. It's a massive hoax undertaken by us desirable Northern countries so as to disguise the fact that we actually live in complete paradises. It's the only way to make sure we don't get flooded with millions of new immigrants.

Ascending rain would have been something to behold.
